Al-Mustaqbal University took part in the official ceremony launching the third edition of the “Study in Iraq” program for the 2025–2026 academic year. The event was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, Minister of Higher Education, and was attended by high-level representatives from international organizations, the Arab and foreign diplomatic corps, as well as a number of presidents of Iraqi universities, academic figures, and members of parliament. The university’s delegation included Assistant Professor Dr. Sameer Ibrahim Abbas, Director of the Department of International and Local Cultural Relations, and Mr. Mohammed Fadel Mousa, representing the Department of Registration and Student Affairs. This participation reflects the university’s commitment to supporting national initiatives and programs that promote internationalization and foster scientific collaboration with countries around the world. In his speech, the Minister announced the offering of over 16,000 scholarships through the new edition of the program, covering a wide range of academic disciplines, with a strong emphasis on cultural exchange and the enhancement of research environments. He also announced the establishment of the “Study in Iraq” Student Association for international students and declared April 30 of each year as the official International Student Day in Iraq. Furthermore, the program will include enhanced Arabic language instruction for non-native speakers and provide practical training opportunities for international students. Dr. Tap Raj, Acting Head of the UNESCO Office in Iraq, congratulated the Ministry on this initiative, affirming that Iraq is steadily reclaiming its academic stature by welcoming students from across the globe.
