As part of the summer training program for students of the Colleges of Engineering and Engineering Technologies, and under the generous patronage of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, a specialized workshop was held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, under the direct supervision of the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications and in cooperation with the Center for Continuing Education, titled: "Exploring the MQ-2 Gas Sensor and Arduino: Data Reading and Analysis," delivered by Eng. Mohammed Saad Abaes, member of the AI Center team. The workshop aimed to enhance students’ skills in smart systems and embedded technologies by introducing them to the functionality of the MQ-2 gas sensor, its integration with Arduino boards, and methods for analog data reading and interpretation. A practical project was also implemented to simulate a basic smart alert system. Real-world applications of gas sensors in safety, IoT environments, and environmental monitoring were discussed, encouraging students to think practically and explore innovation in applied technology. This activity aligns with the university’s commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, especially: Goal 4: Quality Education Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure 🔷 Al-Mustaqbal University – The top-ranked private university in Iraq
