Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit / College of Arts and Humanities, and presented by Lecturer Ria Naseef Jassim, is organizing a seminar entitled: “Combating Violence Against Women: Social and Legal Dimensions and Protection Mechanisms” The seminar will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. This seminar aims to discuss the phenomenon of violence against women from both social and legal perspectives, analyzing its causes and impacts on the individual, the family, and society, while highlighting the legislative framework and available protection mechanisms, in a way that contributes to promoting a culture of combating violence, consolidating the principles of justice and equality, and building a safe environment that respects women’s dignity and rights. This comes in implementation of the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security / Pillar of Prevention and Protection, and in fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals (Goal 5: Gender Equality). Al-Mustaqbal University is ranked first among private universities in the classifications.
