Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit / College of Arts and Humanities, and presented by Ms. Russul Neama Kamal, Assistant Lecturer and Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College, is organizing a campaign entitled: “Women as a Civilizational Symbol in the Use of Gold: From Adornment to Therapeutic Belief” The campaign will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026. The campaign aims to highlight the role of women throughout history as carriers of civilizational symbolism associated with gold, and to shed light on its cultural, social, and economic dimensions, while discussing the transformation of gold from a form of aesthetic adornment to its association with therapeutic and popular beliefs. It also seeks to enhance cultural awareness of the importance of gold in civilizational heritage and its role in expressing women’s identity and social status. The campaign will clarify the historical dimension of gold use in ancient civilizations such as the civilization of Mesopotamia and Ancient Egyptian civilization. It will discuss popular therapeutic beliefs associated with gold, examining them between science and myth. It will promote a culture of conscious consumption of gold as an economic and investment value rather than merely a social display. It will also support women’s economic empowerment by raising awareness about managing their gold savings in a safe and responsible manner. This event is organized in implementation of the Third National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security / Pillar of Prevention and Protection, and in pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals (Goal 5: Gender Equality). Al-Mustaqbal University ranks first among private universities in national classifications.
