Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit / College of Arts and Humanities, and presented by Ms. Russul Neama Kamal, Assistant Lecturer and Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College, is organizing a seminar entitled: “Violence Against Women Between Reality and Legislation: Towards Building a Safe and Just Society” The seminar will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2026. This seminar aims to shed light on the phenomenon of violence against women in contemporary society and to analyze the gap between legal legislation and its practical implementation, while enhancing community awareness of the importance of empowering and protecting women legally, psychologically, and socially, ultimately leading to the building of a safe and just society based on equality and respect for human rights. Clarifying the forms of violence against women (physical, psychological, economic, and digital). Highlighting the role of national and international laws in protecting women. Discussing the challenges that hinder the implementation of legislation. Promoting a culture of reporting and community support. Proposing practical recommendations for policymakers, educational institutions, and media organizations. This event is organized in implementation of the Third National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security / Pillar of Prevention and Protection, and in pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals (Goal 5: Gender Equality).
