Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Ahmed Roudhan Salman, the College of Education – Women’s Affairs Unit, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Division, organized an awareness seminar for first-year students in the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences entitled: “Combating Violence Against Women: Strategies and Empowerment Mechanisms.” The seminar was held on Thursday, 19/2/2026, at 9:00 a.m. in the Humanities Building. The seminar was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Rola Saad Habib, with active participation and attendance from faculty members and students of the college and the university. This activity falls ضمن the executive plan of the Iraqi National Strategy for Women for the year 2026, in accordance with the Third Pillar (Protecting Women and Confronting the Violence They Are Subjected To). The seminar included an in-depth discussion of the concept of violence against women and the reality of this phenomenon locally and internationally. The seminar emphasized that “Women are the cornerstone of society,” and that combating violence against them is not merely a legal option, but a moral and existential necessity for the continued advancement of nations. The seminar called upon students to be ambassadors of community peace, to begin with themselves, and to teach those around them that respect is the foundation for building civilizations.
