Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and in coordination with the Women’s Affairs Division, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the Engineering Technical College / Department of Cybersecurity Engineering Technologies organized an awareness campaign entitled “Digital Security is Your Responsibility” on Monday, March 17, 2026. The campaign was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Shahad Ghalib and targeted female students of the department. The campaign aimed to enhance students’ awareness of the importance of digital security and the necessity of protecting personal accounts from cyber threats and breaches. It addressed key preventive measures, including the use of strong passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, and avoiding the sharing of personal information. It also highlighted the risks of phishing attacks, methods for identifying them, and appropriate responses to incidents such as hacking and electronic blackmail. In addition, the campaign included a set of simplified awareness guidelines, such as regularly updating applications, reviewing and adjusting privacy settings, and using secure and reliable networks, all of which contribute to promoting safe and responsible use of technology among students. This initiative was implemented in line with the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security (2025–2030), particularly aligning with the protection pillar, which emphasizes enhancing women’s safety and security across various domains, especially within the digital environment, by mitigating potential cyber risks. Furthermore, the campaign incorporated a training component through the organization of workshops aimed at developing women’s skills in digital security. These sessions focused on improving their capacity to protect personal data, safely engage with modern technologies, and effectively respond to cyber threats with confidence and awareness. The campaign also contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) by promoting digital literacy, and Goal 5 (Gender Equality) by empowering women and strengthening their role in the safe use of technology. This activity reaffirms the department’s commitment to supporting women’s empowerment, enhancing their active participation, and reinforcing their role within the academic environment. #Ranked_first_among_private_universities_in_Iraq #Goal 4: Quality Education, and Goal 5: Gender Equality
