The Department of Artificial Intelligence Engineering Technologies at Al-Mustaqbal University organized an awareness workshop for first-year female students on Tuesday, March 9, 2026. The event was held under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Division and the Women’s Affairs Unit. It took place in one of the halls of the Engineering Building on campus, under the supervision of the Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Zahraa Hashem Karim, with the participation of female staff members of the department, in conjunction with the celebration of International Women’s Day. The workshop addressed several key awareness topics aimed at enhancing students’ digital literacy. It provided comprehensive guidance on protection against cyber extortion, methods of maintaining digital privacy, and safeguarding intellectual property rights related to personal content. In addition, it highlighted best practices for the safe and responsible use of digital platforms, contributing to the development of a well-informed and secure approach to modern technologies among students. This initiative sought to empower female students by equipping them with the essential knowledge and skills required to navigate the digital environment safely. It also emphasized fostering self-reliance in developing innovative projects and building independent academic paths, thereby strengthening women’s roles in scientific and technological fields. The activity was implemented in line with the Third National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security (2025–2030), particularly aligning with the “Protection” pillar, which focuses on enhancing women’s safety and security across various domains, especially within digital spaces, by mitigating cyber risks. Furthermore, the workshop aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) through the promotion of digital awareness and knowledge, and Goal 5 (Gender Equality) by supporting women’s empowerment in scientific and technological domains and reinforcing their role in society. The workshop concluded with the distribution of flowers to the students as a gesture of appreciation for the role and status of women in society. This initiative reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to fostering a supportive academic environment and underscores its leading role in empowering women and serving the university community. #Ranked_first_among_private_universities_in_Iraq #Goal4: Quality_Education Goal5: Gender_Equality#
