On the occasion of the Iraqi Anti-Drug Week, the Women’s Affairs Division at Al-Mustaqbal University, under the supervision of Prof. Sahira Qahtan Abduljabbar, organized an educational awareness campaign titled “The Role of Women in Reducing Drug Abuse.” This campaign was held in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit in the College of Fine Arts, and with the follow-up of Lecturer Suhaila Kazem Jasem. The campaign aimed to strengthen the role and influence of women—as members representing half of society—in limiting the spread of drugs within their families, by monitoring and guiding their children and raising their awareness about the dangers of drug abuse. The role of women is not limited to the household; it also extends to the school as educators of future generations, and to the wider community as active participants in civil society institutions. A number of faculty members and students took part in this campaign on 17 November 2025, in alignment with the protection and prevention pillar of the current year’s National Strategic Plan for Iraqi Women.
