A workshop entitled: “Women and the Work Environment: Ensuring Rights and Preventing Discrimination.”

In line with the executive strategic plan for Iraqi women, and particularly in implementation of the Third National Plan for Women, Peace, and Security / the pillar of participation and institutional reform, the fifth axis regarding providing a suitable work environment that achieves gender justice standards, the Women’s Affairs Unit at Al-Mustaqbal University, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs representatives in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Industries, and under the follow-up of the Head of the Women’s Affairs Division, Prof. Sahira Qahtan Abdul Jabbar, organized a workshop entitled: “Women and the Work Environment: Ensuring Rights and Preventing Discrimination.” On 18/11/2025. The workshop aimed to enhance the awareness of students and faculty members about the principles of professional justice, and to clarify the importance of preparing a safe and fair work environment for women, by highlighting national legislation, protection policies, and mechanisms for reducing discriminatory practices in academic and professional institutions. The workshop included the discussion of key topics, such as: • Women’s rights in different work environments, • Strategies for reducing occupational discrimination, • The most prominent challenges faced by working women, • Presenting models of successful work environments based on a culture of fairness and mutual respect. The workshop was organized and implemented by: • Assistant Lecturer Abrar Falah Naji • Assistant Lecturer Rusul Ahmed Hashim • Programmer Fatima Waleed Khalid The workshop concluded by opening the door for dialogue for students to present their opinions and suggestions regarding enhancing the role of women in academic and professional institutions, with an emphasis on the importance of spreading legal awareness and establishing a culture of equality within the university community, in line with the national directions for women’s affairs.
