Women’s Affairs in Confronting Violence: An Awareness Seminar for Students of the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering In implementation of the Third National Plan for Women, Peace, and Security / Protection and Prevention Pillar, specifically paragraph five concerning negative phenomena that women may be exposed to such as (domestic violence, harassment, electronic blackmail, and drugs), and how to enhance confronting these phenomena according to the law, the Women’s Affairs Unit in the College of Engineering, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Division and the Women’s Affairs Committee in the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering, organized an awareness seminar entitled: “Violence Against Women: Causes, Effects, and Ways of Confrontation.” The seminar addressed the most prominent forms of violence that women face in society, explaining the social and psychological causes of these phenomena, as well as the negative effects they leave on the family and society. It also reviewed the legal and educational means to confront them. The seminar witnessed the attendance of a number of students who actively participated by asking questions and making interventions, which contributed to enhancing community awareness about the importance of respecting women’s rights and promoting a safe and inclusive educational and professional environment. This activity comes as part of the department’s efforts to develop students’ critical understanding of social issues and empower them to contribute to building a society based on respect and equality.
