Al-Mustaqbal University organized an official ceremony to celebrate its remarkable academic achievement after obtaining first place in Iraq within three major international rankings: the Times Interdisciplinary Science Ranking (ISR 2026), the QS Sustainability Ranking 2026, and the Times Arab Universities Ranking The ceremony was attended by a distinguished group of official and academic figures, including the Governor of Babylon, Mr. Adnan Fayhan Al-Dulaimi, the Chairman of the Provincial Council, Mr. Asaad Al-Muslmawi, and the President of the Scientific Research Authority, Prof. Dr. Shafiq Shaker Al-Mulla, along with several university presidents, deans, and representatives from both the public and private sectors During the opening, the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, stated that these accomplishments mark a pivotal milestone in the university’s journey and reflect its ability to compete globally and its commitment to meeting standards of quality and innovation In his speech, Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, affirmed that Al-Mustaqbal University continues to strengthen its international presence, noting that it achieved first place among private universities and second place nationally in the QS Sustainability Ranking 2026. He also highlighted the university’s first-place ranking in Iraq within the Times Interdisciplinary Science Ranking (ISR 2026), in addition to securing third place in Iraq and entering the 101–125 category among Arab universities in the Times Arab Universities Ranking He explained that this progress stems from a strategic vision focused on supporting high-impact research, enhancing governance, and aligning scientific efforts with community needs and the goals of sustainable development For his part, the Governor of Babylon expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the university, describing the progress achieved as “a qualitative leap for the governorate and for higher education in Iraq.” The Chairman of the Provincial Council also praised the university’s vital role in supplying society with skilled graduates and innovative initiatives Meanwhile, the President of the Scientific Research Authority emphasized that Al-Mustaqbal University represents a national model for strengthening the connection between scientific research and the industrial sector, and for supporting the knowledge-based economy The ceremony also included an awards segment in which commemorative shields were presented to distinguished guests. The President of the University was honored with the Excellence Shield from the Scientific Research Authority in recognition of his efforts in developing the university’s research and institutional trajectory.
