Al-Mustaqbal University continues to consolidate its leading position within the higher education system after achieving a new academic milestone for the third consecutive year by being included in the Times Higher Education Arab University Rankings 2026, ranking among the top group of Iraqi universities. Al-Mustaqbal University secured joint third place nationally in Iraq out of 58 Iraqi universities listed in the ranking, and was placed within the (100–125) band regionally, becoming one of only four Iraqi universities to reach this advanced category. The 2026 ranking included 268 universities from 18 Arab countries. The President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, stated in a remark to the University Media that achieving this position for the third consecutive year in the Arab Times ranking reflects the strength of the university’s institutional performance and the coherence of its strategy in enhancing the quality of education, promoting scientific research, and supporting academic internationalization. He added that this continuous progress is the result of sustained investment in developing colleges and research centers, providing an innovation-driven academic environment, and expanding scientific partnerships with reputable international universities and institutions. For his part, the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, explained that maintaining Al-Mustaqbal University’s advanced standing nationally and regionally reflects years of diligent work aimed at strengthening scientific publishing, expanding joint research projects, and developing international cooperation programs, in addition to improving research infrastructure, which has significantly enhanced the university’s indicators in global rankings. He further noted that the university continues to implement its strategic plans to advance the teaching and learning environment, broaden international partnerships, and strengthen its regional and global presence. It is worth noting that the Times Higher Education Arab University Rankings are based on five main pillars: teaching and learning environment, research, research impact (citations), industry income and knowledge transfer, and international outlook—providing a comprehensive methodology for assessing academic and research performance across Arab universities. Al-Mustaqbal University reaffirms its commitment to moving forward in building a modern university model that keeps pace with future requirements, strengthens innovation and research capacity development, and contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, thereby enhancing its position regionally and globally.
