Under the patronage of the Honorable President of Al-Mustaqbal University, The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Engineering, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Division and the Department of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Industries, organized a scientific field trip for second-year students to the Hilla Textile Factory, with active participation by female students, in support of enhancing women’s presence in engineering and industrial disciplines. This activity was carried out in implementation of the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security, under the Pillar of Participation and Institutional Reform, and within the fifth clause concerning providing a suitable work environment that achieves standards of gender equality. The visit emphasized the importance of integrating women into applied field experiences and providing them with the opportunity to directly observe production lines, operating systems, and management mechanisms within industrial facilities, in line with the national plan’s orientation toward strengthening women’s participation and enhancing their efficiency in the industrial sector. During the visit, the students—female students in particular—were introduced to the stages of production, the machinery used in textile manufacturing, and the mechanisms for applying quality standards. The factory staff also delivered a comprehensive explanation of industrial processes, which contributed to linking theoretical knowledge with practical application and highlighting the role of textile factories in supporting the national economy. This field trip comes as part of the department’s efforts to support applied scientific activities and encourage students to explore real working environments, while emphasizing the role of women as essential partners in development, institutional reform, and the achievement of sustainable development. Activity Coordinators: • Dr. Enas Redha Ali • Asst. Lect. Abrar Falah Naji • Ms. Fatima Waleed Khalid Date: 8/12/2025
