Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Dr. Walaa Louay Al-Fallouji, the Joint Examination Committee between the College of Medicine / Al-Mustaqbal University and the College of Medicine / University of Babylon convened on Wednesday morning, January 28, 2026, at the premises of the College of Medicine, University of Babylon.
The meeting was attended by the Dean of the College of Medicine at the University of Babylon, the Scientific and Administrative Assistant Deans, as well as the heads and faculty members of the Departments of Physiology and Anatomy from both colleges.
Representing the College of Medicine at Al-Mustaqbal University were Assistant Professor Dr. Abdul-Hussein Mazhar Arebi, Head of the Anatomy Department, and Dr. Ban Thaher Dhabah Al-Shammari, Head of the Physiology Department, in addition to a number of specialized faculty members.
The meeting focused on discussing the mechanisms for implementing the twinning program and agreeing on the organization of the unified examination for second-year students in the subjects of Physiology and Anatomy during the second semester, in accordance with the decisions of the Committee of Deans of Colleges of Medicine and the requirements of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The participants also agreed on matters related to curricula and academic content, the adoption of reliable scientific references, as well as the implementation of a unified examination system based on Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with electronic correction using the OMR system, ensuring fairness and accuracy in student assessment.
Both parties emphasized that this step comes within the framework of strengthening academic cooperation between public and private colleges, unifying examination standards, and enhancing the quality of the educational process in a manner that serves medical students across Iraq.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed to hold a series of upcoming meetings and to further strengthen communication channels among all parties, in support of advancing the educational process and serving the community.
