There is no doubt that the smart education platform, which the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has launched under the current circumstances, is nothing less than a legal step through which the Ministry has embodied the administrative and strategic concept of a comprehensive education automation system. It represents a qualitative leap in the field of digital transformation toward smart learning to develop the university education environment, and improve the quality of institutional performance, as well as strengthen and consolidate smart governance for communication between professors, students, and administration through the performance of the tasks required of them in accordance with the platform guide issued at the beginning of the current academic year by the committee overseeing the smart learning platform. This is an advanced system selected by the Ministry from among dozens of modern systems, Moreover, it represents a global qualitative leap for Iraqi universities to strengthen their position in the field of comprehensive digital transformation, given that it contains digital data of particular importance, such as lectures, student attendance records, conducting exams, and recording grades, etc. However, the procedures for its implementation, in accordance with its general framework, still require legal safeguards through the enactment of legislation regulating higher education governance to define rights and duties, thereby ensuring the effectiveness of electronic systems under the responsibility of the competent sectoral authority and establishing secure algorithms to counter digital breaches and threats to guarantee the confidentiality of faculty and student data It is worth noting that Future University was one of the first Iraqi universities to embark on digital transformation quite some time ago in both administrative and academic spheres to keep pace with technological and informational developments, and it has achieved significant accomplishments in this field.
