Students of the College of Medicine at Al-Mustaqbal University are continuing their intensive preparations and final arrangements for the “Sustainability Festival,” scheduled to launch on Sunday, April 13, 2026. The preparations are being carried out under the direct supervision of the University President, Hassan Shaker Majdi, and the Dean of the College, Walaa Luay Al-Falluji, as part of the college’s ongoing efforts to promote a culture of sustainable development and link medical sciences with environmental responsibility. This initiative reflects the university’s applied approach to instilling sustainability values among future physicians. The College Deanship أكد that the festival is not merely a celebratory event, but an integral part of the educational journey aimed at preparing a generation of medical professionals who recognize that preserving the planet’s resources is a fundamental pillar of comprehensive health prevention. The college witnessed active engagement from student teams and organizing committees, with close follow-up by the Administrative Assistant, Dr. Aseel Hashem. Preparations included designing scientific posters highlighting the strong link between public health and environmental preservation, setting up awareness stations to promote “green medicine” concepts and reduce carbon emissions in the healthcare sector, as well as showcasing student innovations in recycling non-hazardous medical waste and improving energy efficiency in teaching hospitals. The festival will feature a variety of scientific and artistic activities, along with interactive competitions, all aimed at supporting the creation of a sustainable future. The college and university invite faculty members and interested participants to attend and engage in its events. The College Deanship emphasized that the students’ enthusiasm and dedication in preparing for this festival reflect a high level of awareness and a strong commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by Al-Mustaqbal University at both the local and international levels.
