The College of General Medicine at Al-Mustaqbal University participated on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, in the “Sustainability Walk” initiative, held ضمن the activities of the Fourth Al-Mustaqbal International Sustainability Week, in the presence of the University President, Hassan Shaker Majdi, with wide participation from faculty members and students of the college alongside university staff. This participation reflects the college’s commitment to supporting sustainability concepts and reinforcing its academic and societal role in building a sustainable and healthy environment. This participation comes as part of the college’s strategy to integrate sustainability concepts into medical education and to enhance the role of students in supporting environmental and health initiatives in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals. Students of the college, acting as “Sustainability Ambassadors,” contributed to spreading a culture of social responsibility and linking medical practices with environmental preservation, in a scene that reflected an advanced awareness of the physician’s role in building a healthy and sustainable society. The walk included several awareness activities through which participants were introduced to the university’s أبرز sustainability initiatives, including expanding green spaces, adopting clean energy, applying modern agricultural technologies, as well as recycling programs, waste reduction efforts, and promoting green transportation practices within the campus. During the event, the University President emphasized that the wide student participation reflects a high level of awareness and institutional belonging, noting that such initiatives contribute to preparing a generation capable of leading change toward a more balanced and sustainable future. The College Deanship affirmed its commitment to actively contributing to sustainability pathways, highlighting that integrating the medical role with environmental responsibility is a fundamental pillar in preparing future physicians capable of serving the present and safeguarding the rights of future generations.
