The College of Health and Medical Technologies / Department of Community Health Technologies organized a health and cultural awareness campaign within the university campus, in line with the achievement of the Third and Fourth Sustainable Development Goals, on 13 January 2026, under the title “Influenza and Vaccines.”
The campaign was implemented with the participation of the Head of the Department, Professor Dr. Aqeel Hanzal Al-Jawthari, Ms. Hawraa Thaer Amer, with the support of the administrative staff, and the participation of a number of first-year students.
The campaign aimed to raise students’ awareness about influenza, clarify methods of prevention through the use of available vaccines, and emphasize the importance of vaccination at appropriate times, due to its effective role in reducing the risk of influenza infection among different age groups.
The significance of this campaign lies in enhancing health awareness among university students, given their pivotal role in transferring health culture to the community, as well as emphasizing the importance of vaccines and adopting preventive measures to limit the spread of diseases.
This campaign is part of a series of student activities implemented by the department and the college, aiming to support the community and promote health culture at both the individual and societal levels.
