The President of Al‑Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, inaugurated two newly established specialized laboratories at the College of Health and Medical Technologies / Department of Optical Technologies, as part of a strategic initiative to strengthen scientific training and advance students’ practical competencies.
The first facility, the Ocular Prosthetics Laboratory, is dedicated to applied training in ocular rehabilitation technologies, particularly the fabrication of cosmetic ocular prostheses. This laboratory aims to enhance students’ technical proficiency in alignment with contemporary scientific advancements in the field.
The second facility, the Pediatric Ophthalmic Examination Laboratory, specializes in training students in pediatric vision assessment techniques and the early diagnosis of visual impairments in children. It further reinforces preventive principles and early detection strategies, thereby promoting the delivery of evidence-based healthcare services.
The inauguration ceremony included practical clinical demonstrations conducted by fourth-year students involving real-case scenarios. The University President expressed his appreciation for the advanced professional competencies demonstrated by the students.
The establishment of these laboratories reflects the University Presidency’s commitment to fostering a modern academic environment that integrates theoretical knowledge with clinical application, and to preparing highly qualified professionals capable of meeting the evolving demands of the healthcare labor market.
