Launch of the Fourth Al-Mustaqbal International Sustainability Week with Broad Scientific Activities

Al-Mustaqbal University launched, on Sunday, April 12, 2026, the activities of the “Fourth Al-Mustaqbal International Sustainability Week” across its campus, under the patronage and presence of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, with wide participation from researchers, specialists, and students. This event aims to promote sustainable development concepts, reinforce the university’s role in achieving global sustainability goals, and provide a stimulating academic and cultural environment for innovation and creativity. The activities included the inauguration of exhibitions by the College of Health and Medical Technologies, showcasing specialized outputs in anesthesia and radiology, cosmetology and optics, community health and emergency medicine, as well as dental technology and medical laboratories, contributing to the enhancement of healthcare services. The event also witnessed the opening of exhibitions at the College of Dentistry and the sustainable medical clinic, in addition to the presentation and discussion of high-quality graduation projects addressing periodontal diseases, reflecting the advanced academic level of students. In alignment with the fourth Sustainable Development Goal (Quality Education), the central computer laboratory was inaugurated, featuring more than 300 modern computers, making it one of the largest advanced examination centers supporting digital transformation at the university. At the academic level, the Second International Legal Conference was launched in collaboration with Mansoura University to address issues of justice and equality. Additionally, the College of Nursing organized its Fifth Scientific Forum, attended by the Head of the Deans Committee of Nursing Colleges in Iraq, focusing on the Bologna Process and the development of nursing education quality. The university’s central hall hosted a comprehensive scientific exhibition featuring contributions from the Colleges of Science, Engineering, Education, Archaeology, and Media, along with innovations from sustainability teams and students of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Agriculture, all emphasizing practical and sustainable solutions. The program also included the افتتاح of a physical training hall dedicated to female students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, and concluded the first day with a tour of the Art Education exhibition and book fairs, which attracted significant attendance. The first day concluded in a vibrant scientific and cultural atmosphere reflecting strong engagement and participation. The Fourth Al-Mustaqbal International Sustainability Week will continue for a full week, featuring conferences, seminars, and workshops.
