Design is one of the key tools that influence our surroundings, contributing to the organization of spaces and coordination of various elements. However, design can sometimes become a source of visual pollution, negatively affecting people's mental health and aesthetic perceptions. Visual pollutants are elements that harm visual aesthetics and distract attention, such as intrusive advertisements, clashing colors, and poorly thought-out designs. These pollutants can lead to the deterioration of the visual environment and disrupt visual comfort.

Designers must aim to create a balanced and aesthetic visual environment that adheres to sustainable development standards, ensuring it does not harm the visual comfort or mental health of the community. Achieving this requires a balance between creativity, aesthetics, and preserving the surrounding visual environment. Designing visually appropriate spaces can improve the quality of life, enhance creativity, and contribute to individual well-being. Through awareness and training in the conscious use of design elements, visual pollutants can be minimized, leading to a healthier and more sustainable visual environment.

Almustaqbal University, the number one university in Iraq
