Recent developments in the field of generative artificial intelligence have enabled the creation of advanced digital content, including images, videos, texts, and audio. Engineer Abbas highlighted that, despite the significant benefits of these technologies in scientific research and creativity, they also pose security and ethical risks, the most notable being deepfakes, which can be exploited for blackmail, fraud, spreading fake news, and damaging the reputation of individuals and institutions. The article also addressed recommended preventive measures, such as using tools to detect forged content, raising awareness within the academic community about verifying information sources, and establishing legal and ethical guidelines for AI usage. Engineer Abbas emphasized that Al-Mustaqbal University is making significant efforts in this field by organizing workshops and training courses on AI ethics and digital security, as well as integrating digital verification technologies into its educational environment to ensure the protection of students and the university community and to promote digital awareness as a first line of defense against digital forgery risks. He concluded by stressing that collaboration among faculty, students, and researchers is essential to ensure the responsible and innovative use of AI technologies in serving the academic community.
