Al-Mustaqbal University Hosts Advanced Workshop on MQ-2 Gas Sensor and Arduino Applications

As part of the summer training program for students of the Colleges of Engineering and Engineering Technologies, and under the generous patronage of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, a specialized workshop was held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, under the direct supervision of the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications and in cooperation with the Center for Continuing Education, titled: "Exploring the MQ-2 Gas Sensor and Arduino: Data Reading and Analysis," delivered by Eng. Mohammed Saad Abaes, member of the AI Center team. The workshop aimed to enhance students’ skills in smart systems and embedded technologies by introducing them to the functionality of the MQ-2 gas sensor, its integration with Arduino boards, and methods for analog data reading and interpretation. A practical project was also implemented to simulate a basic smart alert system. Real-world applications of gas sensors in safety, IoT environments, and environmental monitoring were discussed, encouraging students to think practically and explore innovation in applied technology. Ongoing Summer Training Program at Al-Mustaqbal University Enhances Technical Skills of Engineering and Engineering Technology Students

Under the generous patronage of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and under the direct supervision of the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications, in collaboration with the Center for Continuing Education, the summer training program continues for students of the Colleges of Engineering and Engineering Technologies, as part of the university’s commitment to developing students’ practical and technical skills and connecting them with the latest advancements in technology and artificial intelligence. The program has witnessed strong participation and active engagement from students, featuring a series of specialized training workshops and applied scientific sessions aimed at equipping participants with advanced skills in programming, smart systems, and AI applications. During one of the sessions, Prof. Dr. Nidhal Khdhair Al-Abbadi, Director of the Al-Mustaqbal Center for AI Applications, addressed the participating students, emphasizing the importance of hands-on training in developing young talents. He highlighted the university’s role in creating a stimulating educational environment that fosters creativity and innovation and stressed that such programs directly contribute to preparing students for real-world job markets. Advanced Workshop on AI Platforms and Their Role in Education as Part of the Summer Training for Engineering and Technology Students

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and under the direct supervision of the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications, the summer training program for students of the Colleges of Engineering and Engineering Technologies continued with an advanced scientific workshop titled: "AI Platforms and Their Role in Supporting the Educational Process," presented by Prof. Dr. Nidhal Khdhair Al-Abbadi, Director of the Center, on Tuesday, June 28, 2025. The workshop aimed to enable students to become familiar with the most important tools and platforms used to apply artificial intelligence in the educational environment, showcasing real experiences and practical applications demonstrating how these technologies can enhance the quality of education, personalize content, and stimulate self-directed and interactive learning. The workshop also addressed ways to ethically and effectively integrate artificial intelligence into the academic system, discussing the challenges and opportunities available to students amid rapid digital transformation. Practical Arduino Project Implementation at the Al-Mustaqbal Center for AI Applications as Part of the Summer Training Program at Al-Mustaqbal University

As part of the summer training program for students of the Colleges of Engineering and Engineering Technologies, and under the generous patronage of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and with direct supervision from the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications, a specialized training session was held on Monday, June 23, 2025, titled: "Practical Project Using Arduino," presented by Eng. Mohammed Saad Aubeis, a member of the center’s team. The session covered the design and implementation of a smart system using Arduino boards and various sensors, including programming techniques, hardware connections, and the steps involved in building a functional prototype. The workshop aimed to empower students to develop practical, real-world technology solutions while fostering design thinking and collaborative work. A complete training model was presented during the session, focusing on environmental monitoring or energy efficiency, which students can adopt and expand as part of their summer training projects. This session contributes to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) and Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy). Ministerial Committee Visits Al-Mustaqbal Center for AI Applications and Commends Its Academic and Technical Excellence

As part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s ongoing efforts to evaluate research centers and monitor their performance, a high-level ministerial delegation from the Department of Research and Development visited the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications at Al-Mustaqbal University on Monday, July 1st, 2025, to assess the center’s readiness and compliance with national academic standards. The delegation was warmly received by Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Dr. Abbas Al-Bawei, Vice President for Scientific Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Nidhal Khdhair Al-Abbadi, Director of the Center, along with the center’s distinguished research and administrative staff. The ministerial delegation included: Asst. Prof. Dr. Sinan Hussam Mahdi – Assistant Director General for Scientific Affairs / Department of Research and Development Asst. Prof. Dr. Essam Abdulwahid Hashem – Director of the Center for Research and Information Rehabilitation / University of Kufa Asst. Lecturer Mohammed Rafeed Ahmed – Representative from the Department of Entrepreneurial Project Management / Department of Research and Development During the visit, the committee toured the center’s laboratories and research halls, where they reviewed the modern equipment, advanced infrastructure, and innovative projects being implemented. The delegation expressed their admiration for the center’s rapid progress, as well as the expertise and dedication of its staff in advancing AI applications for community benefit. Continuing the Summer Internship: Mobile App Development with Flutter

As part of the Summer Internship Program for students of the Colleges of Engineering and Engineering Technologies, and under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and the direct supervision of the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications, an advanced training session was held on Monday, June 23, 2025, entitled: “Mobile App Development Using Flutter”, delivered by programmer Sarah Sadoon Abbas, a member of the center’s technical team. This session served as a continuation of previous introductory sessions on Flutter and focused on more advanced topics, such as: Interactive UI design using Flutter Widgets. Building a practical To-Do List application. Screen navigation using the Navigator widget. Managing app state with StatefulWidget. The session featured a live coding demonstration that students can expand into a practical project as part of their internship, contributing to their technical development and readiness for the job market. Minister of Higher Education Awards Certificate of Appreciation to the President of Al-Mustaqbal University for His Outstanding Efforts in Supporting Education

On May 27, 2025, under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, a certificate of appreciation was awarded to Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, in recognition of his valuable efforts and distinguished contributions to advancing the educational process at both academic and administrative levels.
