To mark World Clean Energy Day, the Almustaqbal Energy Research Center at Almustaqbal University held a specialized scientific symposium at the College of Engineering Technology, with distinguished academic attendance and active student participation. The symposium began with registration and the playing of the national anthem, followed by the commencement of the scientific session. Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision at Future University, opened the proceedings, emphasizing the crucial role of universities in supporting scientific research in the field of clean energy and adopting sustainable solutions. He was followed by Dr. Salwan Obaid Waheed, Director of the Energy Research Center, who presented the center's vision for developing applied research and enhancing the integration of academic and technological aspects in the field of renewable energy. The symposium included specialized scientific lectures. Dr. Salwan Obaid Waheed delivered a lecture on the latest modern renewable energy technologies, and Ms. Zahraa Ibrahim, a lecturer from the Department of Electrical Engineering Technologies, presented a scientific presentation on integrating electric vehicles with sustainable buildings. Dr. Musaddaq Maher Abdul Zahra, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Incubator, also delivered a lecture on employing robotics applications in solar energy systems and improving their operational efficiency. This forum is part of the Center for Energy Research's efforts to disseminate scientific awareness and promote a culture of clean energy within the university environment.
Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, inaugurated the new Science Colleges building, coinciding with the launch of Future Education Week on World Education Day. He emphasized that the new building will significantly contribute to enhancing quality standards and improving academic performance, ultimately leading to accreditation. It is worth noting that the design and construction of the building were undertaken by the Administrative Affairs Department at the University Presidency, adhering to the latest engineering and architectural specifications. This makes it a distinctive landmark and an architectural addition to the university's other landmarks, embodying the university's vision of providing modern academic spaces that support education and scientific research. For his part, Mr. Abdul-Ridha Shaker Majdi, Director of Administrative Affairs, explained in a statement to the university's media that the building was constructed on an area of approximately 2,000 square meters, comprising eight floors, bringing the total building area to 16,000 square meters. The building includes offices for deans, assistant deans, department heads, and professors, in addition to administrative offices for staff, state-of-the-art classrooms, and scientific laboratories of varying sizes, all equipped with top-of-the-line equipment to meet the demands of modern education. It is also worth mentioning that the building has been occupied by several scientific colleges, including the Colleges of Engineering, Science and Engineering Technologies, and Medicine, thus enhancing the efficient utilization of the university's infrastructure and serving its academic mission. This achievement underscores Future University's commitment to its comprehensive development vision and its tireless pursuit of providing an integrated learning environment that meets global standards and supports excellence and innovation in higher education.

Professor Hassan Shaker Majdy, President of Almustaqbal University, chaired the sixth session of the University Council, held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, which coincides with World Quality Education Day, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG-4): Quality Education. To celebrate this occasion, the Council launched *Quality Education Week 2026*, running from Saturday, January 24, to Thursday, January 29. The week's events include a variety of activities reflecting the university's efforts to improve the quality of education and enhance academic partnerships and international expertise. The week's events included the inauguration of the University Council Hall, where the first meeting was held to mark this occasion. New buildings for newly established colleges and departments were also inaugurated. These buildings house administrative offices and classrooms for the Faculties of Medicine, Engineering, and Science and Technology, a step aimed at modernizing the infrastructure and supporting educational programs. On Sunday, January 25th, the Artificial Intelligence Forum will commence in cooperation with the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils, aiming to showcase the latest technologies and innovations in this vital field. Preparations were also discussed for Iraq's most important event: hosting the Euro-Asian Universities International Forum (EURASIA ACADEMY) on Thursday, January 29th. The forum will bring together academics from Turkish and Iraqi universities to discuss the quality of higher education and the role of partnerships in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. The agenda was also reviewed, including the Ministry's directives regarding the establishment of scientific journals and the organization of conferences, as well as the results of the first semester, instructions for mock assessment exams, and preparations for the first-year semester exams according to the university calendar. As part of the celebrations, congratulations were extended to the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology Department for achieving first place among public and private universities in the Iraqi National Ranking for three consecutive years. Congratulations were also extended to the other colleges and departments of the university that achieved high rankings in the national ranking. Following an invitation from the Babil Statistics Directorate, Almustaqbal Energy Research Center attended a coordination meeting that included a representative from UNESCO, the Director of Babil Statistics, and the Head of the Legal Department at the Technical Institute, representing the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. During the meeting, discussions focused on prospects for joint cooperation to support green economy initiatives by promoting sustainable and renewable energy, particularly solar energy, and linking it to data-driven planning and statistics, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals. In this context, Mr. Mohsen, representing the Almustaqbal Energy Research Center emphasized that Almustaqbal University prioritizes sustainable development and strives to integrate this approach into its various scientific and community activities. He noted that the Center for Energy Research is working to translate this vision into sustainable energy projects and solutions that serve the community, enhance resource efficiency, and support the green economy. The summit is considered one of the most prominent global events in the sustainable energy and technological innovation sector. The summit brought together a select group of leaders, innovators, and experts from around the world to develop practical strategies for achieving a sustainable future by attracting advanced solutions in renewable energy, smart cities, water technologies, developing climate finance markets, and strengthening international cooperation in the field of clean energy. The event witnessed the participation of more than 700 international companies, in addition to a "Green House" area dedicated to startups, an interactive platform for clean technologies, and the organization of various sustainability activities. During his participation, the University President toured the exhibition pavilions and participating companies, where he explored the latest technological solutions and AI-based technologies, innovations in climate finance, and food and water security.
