Meeting of the University President with Departments and Academic Units at Al-Mustaqbal University (UOMUS)

Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdi, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University (UOMUS), convened a meeting with department heads and academic units within the university. The meeting included a presentation on the university’s achievements during the previous period across various domains. These accomplishments pose a significant challenge in maintaining success and delivering optimal performance. It necessitates collective efforts, teamwork, and reinforcing values of loyalty and commitment to the university institution. Additionally, the meeting showcased the achievements in scientific research within the university during the preceding period. This encompassed research activities, international rankings, scientific journals, and mechanisms for activating agreements with local and international universities in areas of mutual interest. Notably, the university recently hosted a major scientific event in Iraq—the Sustainability Week Festival. This event featured numerous scientific, cultural, and artistic activities aligned with the sustainable development goals declared by the United Nations.

"Quality Assurance Workshop: "National Accreditation and Shaping the Future of Education"

Sharing insights from our recent dialogue session titled "National Accreditation and Shaping the Future of Education " held as part of the Al-Mustaqbal Sustainability Week Festival on February 19, 2024. Led by esteemed speakers, including Dr. Rajha Abdul Mohsen Hamza (Head of the National Council for Accreditation of Nursing Colleges - NCANC), Dr. Hayder Hatim Falih (Head of the National Council for Accreditation of Educational Group Colleges Programs - NCAECP), and Dr. Shukria Shadhan Al-Aqeeli (Head of the National Council for Accreditation of Colleges and Institutes of Health and Medical Techniques - NCACHT), discussions centered around the crucial role of accreditation in steering the future of education towards sustainability. Key takeaways highlighted during the session included the integral connection between sustainable development and accreditation, the essential standards for fostering quality education, and the crucial role of student development in specialized fields to ensure educational excellence.

"A Delegation from the Quality Assurance Department Participated in Panel Discussion: Academic Accreditation & International Standards at AUIB"

A delegation from the Quality Assurance and Academic Performance Department participated in the panel discussion titled "Academic Accreditation and International Standards in Educational Institutions," held at the American University in Baghdad. The session was attended by Dr. Khalil Ibrahim Mahmoud, a member of the National Institutional Accreditation Council in Iraq, along with several quality managers from government, private universities, colleges, and individuals interested in quality assurance and academic performance departments. The discussion covered several topics, notably international standards (ISO) and their role in enhancing the quality of education and institutional management. These standards contribute to curriculum development and ensure the quality of educational services. They also facilitate effective communication and improve overall institutional management, enhancing excellence and continuous improvement. Additionally, the discussion presented the accreditation process, both institutional and programmatic, elucidating the organizational steps universities and departments can take to obtain accreditation. This involves self-assessment reports, improvement plans, compliance report preparation, and reviewer evaluation. Furthermore, it explained how to analyze internal and external environments to achieve the highest quality standards in universities. It is worth mentioning that the Quality Assurance and Academic Performance Department at Future University operates under the direct supervision of the university president, in collaboration with colleges and departments to fulfill institutional and programmatic accreditation requirements. Institutional and programmatic accreditation reflects the university's commitment to providing high-quality education, indicating quality infrastructure, management, and academic programs. This helps attract students, ensures that education meets specific standards, and enhances the university's reputation locally and internationally

For the second week in a row, the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department at Almustaqbal University continues its meetings in order to prepare the requirements for the Sustainability Week that will be held on the Future University campus for the period from 2/17-22/2024.

ALmustaqbal University ranked second among private universities and colleges in the results of the Iraqi classification of universities for the year 2023, with a slight difference (0.9) from first place.

A training workshop entitled “The committees’ work mechanism to achieve institutional accreditation requirements”

Under the Guardianship of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Department of Quality Assurance & University Performance has organized a Training Workshop entitled "Committees’ Work Mechanism in the Achievement of Institutional Accreditation Requirements” It is remarkable to note that Prof. Dr. Mijbil Rafiq Marjan, being the Chairman of the Central Committee for Institutional Accreditation, with its Members, Dr. Sabah Maan Bidan, and Dr. Riyad Hamid Salman, have participated in conducting the Workshop. During the Workshop, Institutional Accreditation Standards have been carefully explained, in addition to drawing up an Effective Action Plan, according to which collection of documents shall be enhanced, and meanwhile ensuring compliance with the Indicators Requirements regarding Institutional Accreditation. The Workshop indeed has witnessed an active participation and constructive dialogue between Attendees and the Committee Members who in turn have confirmed the importance of Subcommittees Role in promoting the University Quality & Performance. During the discussion, the Challenges that might face the process of achieving Institutional Accreditation have been investigated as well, emphasizing that Al-Mustaqbal University does consider these Challenges as opportunities for Permanent Improvement. Besides, Coordinators & Committees Role in designing Map of Work and organizing efforts that shall reinforce efficiency of Document Collection has been taken into consideration, as it constitutes part of the University's Commitment to achieve Excellence through its continuous pursuit of Institutional Accreditation & Programmatic Accreditation.
