Al-Mustaqbal University participated in the nineteenth edition of the Gulf Education Exhibition, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from February 9 to 10, 2026, with wide participation from universities and educational institutions from within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and abroad. The university was represented at the exhibition by Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Shaker Majdi, Dean of the College of Engineering, accompanied by Assistant Lecturer Zaid Jawdat Kazem. They supervised the university’s pavilion and conducted a series of introductory meetings with prospective students and those interested in pursuing higher education, during which they provided a comprehensive overview of the academic programs and available specializations. The university’s pavilion attracted notable interest from visitors, where engineering and technical disciplines, admission procedures, and educational opportunities available to Arab and international students were presented. The university’s modern learning environment and advanced infrastructure were also highlighted The “Study in Iraq” initiative received significant attention from attendees, as the university’s contribution to supporting the initiative was showcased, along with its role in attracting international students and strengthening the regional presence of Iraqi universities University representatives emphasized that this participation aligns with Al-Mustaqbal University’s efforts to expand academic cooperation, enhance regional engagement, and build effective scientific partnerships, in line with higher education development plans and the pursuit of quality and excellence standards
In its continuous efforts to enhance academic cooperation and expand its national partnerships, Al-Mustaqbal University signed a number of scientific and cultural cooperation agreements with several Iraqi universities on the sidelines of the EURAS Academy 2026 Forum The agreements were signed by the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, with the University of Mosul, Al-Mustansiriyah University, the Northern Technical University, the Southern Technical University, and Al-Noor University, in the presence of the presidents of these universities: Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, Professor Dr. Safaa Taqi Al-Issawi, Professor Dr. Aliaa Al-Attar, Professor Dr. Adnan Abdullah Atiq, and Professor Dr. Abdul Jawad Al-Amiri This strategic step reaffirms Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to strengthening integration among Iraqi universities and developing the higher education system. The agreements were concluded during the forum organized by the University in cooperation with the European–Asian Universities Union (EURASIA), which is considered the first global scientific and academic forum of its kind to be held at the level of Iraqi universities The cooperation agreements cover a wide range of areas, most notably the implementation of joint scientific research projects, exchange of faculty members, joint supervision of postgraduate students, organization of scientific conferences and specialized workshops, cooperation in international rankings, quality assurance and academic accreditation, as well as the implementation of joint student activities Al-Mustaqbal University emphasized that signing these agreements represents an advanced step toward consolidating effective national partnerships and enhancing the presence of Iraqi universities in regional and international academic forums, in line with its vision to improve the quality of higher education, support scientific research, and achieve sustainable development in the academic sector
In a celebratory atmosphere reflecting the significant development and achievements witnessed by the University of Al-Mustaqbal, the President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, inaugurated the Grand Celebration Hall during an official ceremony held in conjunction with the remarkable success of the European–Asian Universities Forum (EURAS Academy 2026) and the attainment of advanced positions by several academic departments in the Iraqi national rankings. The event was attended by the senior administrative leadership and a large gathering of faculty members and university staff The inauguration of the Grand Celebration Hall represents a qualitative addition to the University’s academic and cultural infrastructure and embodies the vision of the University Presidency to provide modern spaces that support scientific and intellectual dialogue and offer an environment befitting the hosting of major academic events, in line with the University’s path toward institutional modernization and sustainable development During the ceremony, the President of the University delivered a speech in which he emphasized that this inauguration marks an important milestone in the University’s journey, noting that the achievements realized are the result of strategic planning and teamwork. He also expressed his sincere appreciation to all members of the University—academic, administrative, and technical staff—commending their role in fostering institutional belonging and achieving continuous success In turn, the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, delivered a speech highlighting that the inauguration of the Grand Celebration Hall coincides with a pivotal moment in the University’s history, represented by the successful organization and hosting of EURAS Academy 2026. He described the forum as the first high-level international academic event of its kind to be held at Iraqi universities, with wide participation from representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the President of the European–Asian Universities Union (EURAS), as well as a distinguished group of university presidents, academic figures, and decision-makers He explained that the selection of the University of Al-Mustaqbal from among more than 150 member universities of the EURAS Union to host this international event reflects its academic standing and institutional credibility, as well as the tangible progress it has achieved in the quality of education, scientific research, internationalization of education, and the development of international academic partnerships The ceremony also featured the screening of a documentary film showcasing the University of Al-Mustaqbal’s developmental journey and academic achievements, in addition to a special film on the activities of EURAS Academy highlighting the forum’s key milestones and broad international participation The event further included the honoring of several committees and academic, administrative, and technical staff in celebration of the advanced rankings achieved by a number of the University’s academic departments within the Iraqi classification system, in recognition of their distinguished efforts and effective contributions to enhancing institutional performance and academic standards The ceremony concluded with an emphasis that these achievements represent a new step toward consolidating the University of Al-Mustaqbal’s position as an active academic institution representing Iraq in international scientific forums and contributing to the promotion of academic diplomacy and the establishment of knowledge-based partnerships founded on innovation, in line with the aspirations and future outlook of Iraqi higher education

Al-Mustaqbal University has recorded a new academic achievement reflecting its rapid development and growing presence on the higher education map, after ranking first among private universities in Iraq and third at the national and regional levels in the Webometrics global ranking, which included the participation of 128 Iraqi universities, both public and private On the international level, the university achieved a significant leap in its global ranking, moving from 3224 in the previous edition to 1967 in the latest edition, advancing 1257 positions at once, which clearly indicates substantial progress in its academic, research, and digital performance, as well as its active presence in the global academic community This advancement is attributed to the university’s continuous institutional efforts in the fields of rigorous scientific research, academic publishing in international databases, and enhancing the digital presence of its websites and platforms, alongside developing scientific and administrative infrastructure in line with international standards In this context, the university president, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, praised the significant efforts of the academic and administrative staff, emphasizing that this achievement is the result of collective work and team spirit, and serves as a motivation to continue elevating the university’s position in national and international rankings Professor Dr. Majdi also stressed the importance of sustaining institutional work and integrating roles among faculties, research centers, and supporting units, noting that the university continues to implement its strategic plans aimed at enhancing the quality of education, supporting high-quality research, increasing international publications, and improving digital performance, all of which contribute to improving ranking indicators and achieving further future accomplishments
Al-Mustaqbal University is preparing to host the EURAS Academy International Forum on 29 January, a step that reflects its leading academic position and its continued commitment to openness and international cooperation in the field of higher education.
