An awareness campaign represented by the distribution of a brochure entitled: (The Role of Men and Women in Confronting Extremism and Promoting a Culture of Peace)

Under the patronage of the, President Al-Mustaqbal Universitythe Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Health and Medical Technologies / Department of Cosmetology and Laser Technologies, organized an awareness campaign represented by the distribution of a brochure entitled: (The Role of Men and Women in Confronting Extremism and Promoting a Culture of Peace) This took place on 14/2/2026, within the framework of implementing the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace and Security / Pillar of Participation and Prevention / Paragraph No. (3) related to combating extremism and promoting community peace, and in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 5 (Gender Equality) and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions). Brochure Objectives: • Enhancing shared awareness of the responsibility of both men and women in combating extremist ideology. • Highlighting the importance of family and community cooperation in spreading the values of moderation and tolerance. • Shedding light on the role of women in conscious upbringing and building generations, and the role of men in supporting family and intellectual stability. • Promoting a culture of dialogue, respect for diversity, and the rejection of violence in all its forms.

Campaign entitled: “Women as a Civilizational Symbol in the Use of Gold: From Adornment to Therapeutic Belief”

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit / College of Arts and Humanities, and presented by Ms. Russul Neama Kamal, Assistant Lecturer and Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College, is organizing a campaign entitled: “Women as a Civilizational Symbol in the Use of Gold: From Adornment to Therapeutic Belief” The campaign will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026. The campaign aims to highlight the role of women throughout history as carriers of civilizational symbolism associated with gold, and to shed light on its cultural, social, and economic dimensions, while discussing the transformation of gold from a form of aesthetic adornment to its association with therapeutic and popular beliefs. It also seeks to enhance cultural awareness of the importance of gold in civilizational heritage and its role in expressing women’s identity and social status. The campaign will clarify the historical dimension of gold use in ancient civilizations such as the civilization of Mesopotamia and Ancient Egyptian civilization. It will discuss popular therapeutic beliefs associated with gold, examining them between science and myth. It will promote a culture of conscious consumption of gold as an economic and investment value rather than merely a social display. It will also support women’s economic empowerment by raising awareness about managing their gold savings in a safe and responsible manner. This event is organized in implementation of the Third National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security / Pillar of Prevention and Protection, and in pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals (Goal 5: Gender Equality). Al-Mustaqbal University ranks first among private universities in national classifications.

Awareness Campaign (On Environmental Sustainability)

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and with the support of the Dean of the College of Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Radwan, the Women’s Affairs Unit in the College of Education, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Division at the University, carried out an awareness campaign on environmental sustainability. The Unit’s Head, Prof. Dr. Thanaa Bahaa Al-Din Abdullah, prepared printed awareness posters that were distributed throughout the college buildings. The posters addressed energy sustainability, rationalizing water consumption, and preserving and protecting the environment. First-year students from the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences, along with a number of faculty members, contributed to the activity. This activity was implemented on Tuesday, 10 February 2026. This activity falls within the executive plan of the National Strategy for Iraqi Women 2026, under the fifth axis, which includes preparing printed awareness posters for environmental use. This activity achieves Goal 4 of the Sustainable Development Goals, which is Quality Education.

A training workshop to teach girls a handicraft in knitting and embroidery.

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Health and Medical Technologies / Department of Medical Laboratory Techniques, organized a training workshop to teach girls a handicraft in knitting and embroidery on Wednesday, 8/2/2026, coinciding with a visit to the State Home for Flower Care in Babil Governorate. The workshop included training participants on the use of basic knitting tools, learning various stitches, and designing simple handmade pieces suitable for marketing, contributing to opening opportunities for self-employment and small projects, enhancing girls’ economic independence, and building a more productive and sustainable society. The workshop also witnessed the distribution of motivational gifts and knitting tools to the participants, provided by Ms. Iman Hamed, Ms. Samaa Asaad, Ms. Zainab Mohammed Abbas, and Ms. Hajar Ali Anad, with the participation of a number of female students from the department, in a humanitarian initiative supporting women’s empowerment and promoting the spirit of social solidarity. The organization of this workshop comes within the framework of the Executive Plan of the Third National Strategy for Iraqi Women for the year 2026, Axis Two (Economic Development of Iraqi Women) / Paragraph One, and in fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 1 (No Poverty), Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions). Through these activities, Al-Mustaqbal University affirms its continuous commitment to supporting women’s empowerment programs, enhancing their role in economic and social development, and consolidating the principles of justice and sustainability in society.

An awareness and guidance campaign entitled: “Medication Awareness Technology… Smart and Safe Use of Medicines

Under the patronage of the respected President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Engineering / Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering, organized an awareness and guidance campaign entitled: “Medication Awareness Technology… Smart and Safe Use of Drugs” dated 14 / 1 / 2026 In implementation of the contents of the Third National Plan for Women, Peace, and Security / Protection and Prevention Pillar for the year 2025, and within the second paragraph which emphasizes the importance of health awareness for women and harmonizing individual behaviors with the requirements of a healthy lifestyle. The campaign targeted university students, aiming to enhance their health awareness, especially with regard to the risks of improper use of drugs and their negative effects on public health and reproductive health, while highlighting the role of health technology and digital awareness in supporting proper medication behavior. The activity included guidance and interactive segments that focused on: • The risks of random medication use and misuse of drugs. • The importance of adhering to medical guidelines and approved pharmaceutical instructions. • The role of modern technologies and reliable digital sources in monitoring safe treatment. • Prevention of health complications resulting from drug misuse. The campaign organizers emphasized that educating students about medications and linking this education to modern health technology contributes to building a health-aware generation capable of making responsible decisions that protect their health and support their safety in the long term. This activity comes within the efforts of the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering in supporting health awareness and enhancing the role of students in adopting concepts of prevention and public health, in line with the requirements of safety and quality of university life. An awareness brochure entitled: (A Voice Against Domestic Violence)

Under the patronage of the respected President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the College of Health and Medical Technologies / Department of Cosmetic Technologies and Laser, and with the participation of Asst. Lecturer Haiman Waleed Mazloom and Ms. Shahd Nawras, within the Prevention and Protection Pillar, on 27/12/2025, Paragraph No. (5), an awareness brochure entitled: “A Voice Against Domestic Violence.” The brochure aimed to highlight the risks of domestic violence and its psychological and social effects, and to enhance female students’ awareness of the importance of self-protection and the correct ways to deal with cases of domestic violence within the family, in addition to spreading a culture of respect and dialogue and building a safe and supportive family environment. The organization of this activity comes in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly: Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, through supporting mental health and reducing the negative effects of domestic violence. Goal 5: Gender Equality, by empowering women and strengthening their role in confronting violence and protecting their rights within the family and society. This activity affirms the institution’s commitment to spreading awareness and building a conscious generation capable of confronting negative phenomena, and contributing to achieving a safe, violence-free university and community environment.

Al-Mustaqbal Forum for Water Conservation

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision at the University, and under the management of Engineer Khalid Al-Salhi, Director of the Sustainable Development Division, the Al-Mustaqbal Forum for Water Conservation was held on Tuesday, 16 December 2025. The forum hosted Dr. Muthanna Shalaan Al-Wutaifi, Director of Water Resources in Babil Governorate, along with a number of specialized engineers from the directorate. The forum was also attended by the Head of the Women’s Affairs Division, Asst. Lecturer Mary Imran Mahdi, accompanied by several female members of the division. During the forum, Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Al-Zuhairi delivered an introductory overview highlighting Al-Mustaqbal University’s excellence in the fields of sustainability and scientific research. Dr. Muthanna Shalaan Al-Wutaifi also delivered a lecture addressing the current status of the Water Resources Directorate in Babil Governorate, emphasizing the importance of rationalizing water consumption and preserving the environment within the framework of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

An awareness activity aimed at highlighting the importance of soil and its vital role in achieving food security, preserving the environment, and sustainable development.

Under the patronage of the respected President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and under the supervision of the respected Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, and under the responsibility of Asst. Lecturer Mary Imran Mahdi, the Women’s Affairs Division at Al-Mustaqbal University organized an awareness activity on the occasion of World Soil Day, aiming to highlight the importance of soil and its vital role in achieving food security, preserving the environment, and promoting sustainable development, as well as enhancing awareness of the importance of protecting soil from pollution and degradation, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals. On Monday, 15/12/2025, Expert Engineer Ms. Saadiya Faleh Hassoun, Head of the Together Association for the Protection of Humans and the Environment and the National Coordinator of the Arab Network for Environment and Development from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, visited the Women’s Affairs Division at the university. During her visit, she expressed her willingness to cooperate in organizing courses and workshops on the environment and climate, the role of women in environmental protection, and rationalizing water use, in order to achieve sustainability goals, including Goal 13: Climate Action and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
