A guidance workshop titled: “Comprehensive Educational Guidelines on Mechanisms for Protecting Female Students from the Risks of Cyber Blackmail.”

The Department of Artificial Intelligence Engineering Technologies at Al-Mustaqbal University organized an awareness workshop for first-year female students on Tuesday, March 9, 2026. The event was held under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Division and the Women’s Affairs Unit. It took place in one of the halls of the Engineering Building on campus, under the supervision of the Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Zahraa Hashem Karim, with the participation of female staff members of the department, in conjunction with the celebration of International Women’s Day. The workshop addressed several key awareness topics aimed at enhancing students’ digital literacy. It provided comprehensive guidance on protection against cyber extortion, methods of maintaining digital privacy, and safeguarding intellectual property rights related to personal content. In addition, it highlighted best practices for the safe and responsible use of digital platforms, contributing to the development of a well-informed and secure approach to modern technologies among students. This initiative sought to empower female students by equipping them with the essential knowledge and skills required to navigate the digital environment safely. It also emphasized fostering self-reliance in developing innovative projects and building independent academic paths, thereby strengthening women’s roles in scientific and technological fields. The activity was implemented in line with the Third National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security (2025–2030), particularly aligning with the “Protection” pillar, which focuses on enhancing women’s safety and security across various domains, especially within digital spaces, by mitigating cyber risks. Furthermore, the workshop aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) through the promotion of digital awareness and knowledge, and Goal 5 (Gender Equality) by supporting women’s empowerment in scientific and technological domains and reinforcing their role in society. The workshop concluded with the distribution of flowers to the students as a gesture of appreciation for the role and status of women in society. An Educational Workshop Entitled: “Balancing Professional and Family Life for Iraqi Women”

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Administrative Sciences / Department of Financial and Banking Sciences, organized an educational workshop entitled: “Balancing Professional and Family Life for Iraqi Women,” delivered by Assistant Lecturer Najlaa Salem Mousa, on Sunday, March 8, 2026. The workshop aimed to introduce the concept of balancing work responsibilities with family life, while highlighting the key challenges faced by Iraqi women in this regard. It also addressed ways to enhance time management skills and organize responsibilities through the support of both family and society for working women, in addition to presenting practical solutions that contribute to achieving this balance. Awareness Workshop Titled: "Combating All Forms of Violence Against Women and Girls"

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Fine Arts / Department of Art Education, Asst. Lect. Suhaila Kadhim Jassim organized an awareness workshop titled "Combating All Forms of Violence Against Women and Girls" on Saturday, March 7, 2026. The workshop aims to: • Raise community awareness regarding the gravity of electronic violations faced by women across social media and digital platforms. • Define forms of digital violence for participants, such as electronic blackmail, defamation, harassment, and privacy violations. • Clarify the psychological, social, and legal impacts resulting from this type of violence. • Explain legal pathways, protection methods, and reporting mechanisms for cybercrimes. • Promote a culture of safe technology use and build a digital environment that is safer and more respectful of women. This initiative comes as an implementation of the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security (Prevention and Protection Pillars) and in achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (Goal 5: Gender Equality). Scientific Awareness Workshop Entitled: (University Women’s Skills in the Holy Month)

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and under the supervision of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, the Women’s Affairs Division at the College of Agricultural Technologies, supervised by Mary Imran, organized a scientific awareness workshop entitled: “University Women’s Skills in the Holy Month” The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Sorour Hafez Mohammed and attended by a number of college staff and female students. It aimed to empower university students to develop their academic, personal, health, and social skills during the holy month of Ramadan, enhancing their ability to balance study and daily life. The workshop covered four main axes: • Academic Skills: Time management and effective study techniques. • Personal Skills: Building self-confidence and developing positive habits. • Health and Nutrition Skills: Proper nutrition to maintain mental and physical activity. • Social and Spiritual Skills within the Protection Pillar: Promoting safe communication, conscious community participation, and instilling values of respect and mutual support, protecting students from negative pressures and strengthening their positive presence in society. The workshop witnessed wide engagement from the students, who expressed appreciation for this initiative, highlighting its role in supporting their academic and personal journey. It also emphasized the importance of protection as a key pillar in shaping the university woman’s personality during the holy month. Notably, the fourth axis aligns with the approved paragraph dated 25/2/2026.

An awareness course entitled “The Role of Women in the Field of Medicine.”

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, In cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Division, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Dentistry organized an awareness course entitled “The Role of Women in the Field of Medicine” on Tuesday, 24/2/2026, presented by Zahraa Haider Kazem Abdul Ameer. This course was held within the framework of implementing the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace and Security – Pillar of Participation and Institutional Reform – Paragraph One, and in pursuit of achieving Goal Three of the Sustainable Development Goals (Good Health and Well-being). The course aimed to strengthen the role of women in the medical field and provide them with full support in education and academic development, enabling them to attain positions that qualify them to practice their profession in healthcare. Particular emphasis was placed on women’s contributions in gynecology and pediatrics, the treatment of women’s diseases such as breast and uterine cancer, as well as in natural and cesarean childbirth. It also highlighted the importance of enhancing women’s roles across various regions, especially in underserved and remote areas, through the development of infrastructure, hospitals, and educational institutions to achieve this noble objective.

Awareness Workshop: “High Dowries and Their Negative Impact on Women’s Delayed Marriage”

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Education, organized an awareness workshop delivered by Prof. Dr. Thanaa Bahaa Al-Din Abdullah entitled: (High Dowries and Their Negative Impact on Women’s Spinsterhood). The workshop was held on Monday, February 23, at 10:00 a.m. at the college. The event was attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Ahmed Al-Jundi, the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Lecturer Hussein Al-Shammari, as well as a number of faculty members and administrative staff. The workshop addressed the concept of dowry in Islam in accordance with what is stated in the Holy Qur’an and the noble Prophetic traditions. It also discussed the causes of the phenomenon of high dowries in our society and their negative effects, with a focus on women’s spinsterhood. The session further explored possible solutions to this phenomenon and presented appropriate recommendations. The workshop witnessed active engagement, with participants contributing their opinions and perspectives on the topic. This activity falls the executive plan of the Iraqi National Strategy for Women 2026, Axis Three, Paragraph (2). It also contributes to achieving Goal 4 of the Sustainable Development Goals, which is Quality Education.

Awareness Workshop entitled (Digital Harassment and Electronic Blackmail against Women)

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Education, organized an awareness workshop delivered by Prof. Dr. Thanaa Bahaa Al-Din Abdullah entitled: (Digital Harassment and Electronic Blackmail against Women). The workshop was held on Sunday, February 22, at 10:00 a.m. at the College. The event was attended by Mr. Hussein Al-Shammari, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs; Ms. Mari Omran, Head of the Women’s Affairs Division at the University; the officials and members of the Women’s Affairs Committee in the College departments; as well as a number of female faculty members and administrative staff. The workshop addressed the concept of digital harassment and electronic blackmail, their forms and causes, and their psychological and social effects on both the individual and society. It also discussed the legal provisions applicable to those who commit such acts. Emphasis was placed on preventive measures at both the individual and community levels and on promoting digital awareness and safe use of technology. This activity falls within the executive plan of the Iraqi National Strategy for Women 2026, Axis Three, Paragraph (2). It also contributes to achieving Goal 4 of the Sustainable Development Goals, which is Quality Education.

Awareness Seminar titled “Pillars and Axes”

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division at Al-Mustaqbal University organized an awareness seminar entitled: (Pillars and Axes) on Saturday, February 21, 2026. The seminar was presented by Ms. Mari Omran Mahdi, Head of the Women’s Affairs Division at the University, and was attended by the heads of Women’s Affairs Units in the colleges. The seminar provided a detailed explanation of the contents of ministerial orders No. 91 dated 19/10/2025 and Nos. 145 and 146 dated 29/12/2025, as well as the mechanisms for their implementation within higher education institutions in line with national objectives supporting women’s empowerment and enhancing their academic and administrative roles. It also clarified institutional responsibilities in executing these orders, and emphasized the importance of fostering a supportive university environment that ensures equal opportunities, upholds the principles of justice and equality, and promotes women’s participation in various scientific, research, and administrative activities. The seminar featured fruitful discussions and contributions from the attendees, focusing on ways to improve implementation mechanisms and strengthen coordination between the divisions and relevant units to ensure the achievement of the desired objectives. This seminar is part of a series of awareness activities carried out by the Women’s Affairs Division at Al-Mustaqbal University, in alignment with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in pursuit of establishing an institutional culture that supports and empowers women within the university environment.
