As part of its vision for scientific leadership, and under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, the College of Agricultural Technologies organized a specialized workshop entitled “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Enhancing the Efficiency of Animal Production,” within the framework of joint scientific cooperation among Iraqi universities.
The workshop witnessed active participation from a distinguished group of experts, including Professor Dr. Haider Mohammed Hassan from Al-Qasim Green University, Dr. Ammar Karim Abis from the University of Babylon, and Assistant Lecturer Sorour Hafidh Mohammed Al-Fatlawi from Al-Mustaqbal University.
The workshop presented an in-depth analytical review of the prospects for integrating artificial intelligence technologies into the agricultural sector. Topics ranged from improving genetic selection of livestock using machine learning algorithms to applications of precision agriculture, automated milking systems, and proactive health monitoring. Participants also discussed the use of big data and computer vision for early disease detection and improving the quality of animal production, highlighting mechanisms to address the technical and economic challenges associated with this digital transformation.
At the conclusion of the workshop, participants emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration among partner universities to exchange research and field expertise, and to develop innovative technological solutions that contribute to enhancing food security and achieving sustainable development goals. This aligns with global advancements in the Fourth Industrial Revolution and its applications in smart farming.
