AI Projects Welcomed from Across Iraq as Al-Mustaqbal Prepares for Sustainability Week

As part of the ongoing preparations for Al-Mustaqbal Sustainability Week, the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications has begun receiving innovative projects from both within Al-Mustaqbal University and other academic institutions across Iraq. The goal is to foster academic and societal engagement, offering students and researchers the opportunity to showcase outstanding projects in artificial intelligence, smart technology, and environmental innovation — all within the largest scientific platform of the academic year. The 1st Babylon International Conference on Countering Intellectual Extremism and Terrorism Launches with Wide National and International Participation

Under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the First Babylon International Conference on Countering Intellectual Extremism and Terrorism officially commenced on Monday, April 14, 2025. The event was held under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ameen Al-Yasiri, President of the University of Babylon, and Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, with the participation of the University of Al-Hillah and a distinguished group of local and international academics and researchers. The conference aims to promote values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence while offering scientific and practical strategies to confront extremism. It also emphasizes the pivotal role of educational institutions in cultivating a moderate intellectual discourse that rejects violence. In the opening speech delivered on behalf of Al-Mustaqbal University’s President, Prof. Dr. Ammar Al-Husseini, Dean of the College of Law, highlighted the importance of the event as a collaborative platform uniting efforts of universities, government institutions, and civil society organizations in combating extremist ideologies. The conference included over 115 research papers across 10 major themes, with Al-Mustaqbal University contributing 42 research papers. In a special celebratory atmosphere marking Iraqi Academic Day, His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, honored the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, in recognition of his outstanding role and active contributions to supporting the higher education system in Iraq. The celebration was attended by a selection of academic and parliamentary figures. His Excellency the Minister delivered a speech on behalf of the Prime Minister, Mr. Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani, in which he announced the issuance of a letter of thanks and appreciation from the Prime Minister’s office to all Iraqi academics, acknowledging their dedication and efforts in advancing the education system. Al-Mustaqbal University participated with distinction in the Global Day of Babylonian Civilization events, which commenced in Babil Governorate on April 10th, in the presence of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning, Dr. Muhammad Tamim, Babil Governor Mr. Adnan Fihan Al-Dulaimi, along with a number of political, diplomatic, cultural, and artistic figures. Under the Patronage and Attendance of the Minister of Higher Education: Al-Mustaqbal University Participates in the Second Global Day of Babylonian Civilization Events

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Rawdan, and Program Officer Prof. Dr. Mazen Kazar, alongside a selection of faculty members and students, in the second day of the global celebration of Babylonian civilization, which was held in Babil Governorate. The event was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, who called for strengthening specialized scientific research in the fields of archaeology and civilization, praising the academic participation of Al-Mustaqbal University.
