With well-planned steps and a clear developmental vision, the Measurement and Evaluation Unit at the College of Nursing, Al-Mustaqbal University, continues to play a pivotal role in organizing and regulating the assessment process in line with modern academic quality standards and the requirements of specialized nursing education. The unit, which is administratively affiliated with the University Measurement and Evaluation Unit, works to establish an integrated assessment system that takes into account the specific nature of study in the College of Nursing, where theoretical and practical aspects are combined. It supervises the development of various assessment mechanisms, including written examinations, practical tests, and clinical evaluations, in addition to monitoring their implementation to ensure fairness, transparency, and the accurate measurement of students’ competencies. The work of the unit is aligned with the nature of the academic systems adopted in the college. The first stage applies the Bologna Process system, which is based on continuous assessment and outcome-based learning, while the remaining stages follow the traditional semester system. In this context, the unit plays an important organizational role in aligning assessment tools with the requirements of each system and ensuring their consistency with the approved academic standards. The unit also contributes to developing the capabilities of the teaching staff through specialized training workshops on building question banks, designing questions that measure critical thinking, and adopting modern practical assessment tools suitable for the clinical skills required in the nursing profession. In addition, the unit analyzes examination results to extract academic performance indicators, which helps the college administration improve curricula and teaching methods. In this regard, Professor Dr. Qahtan Hadi Hussein Al-Jubouri, Dean of the College of Nursing, emphasized that developing measurement and evaluation systems represents a strategic priority to ensure the quality of educational outcomes and to prepare scientifically and professionally qualified nursing staff capable of serving the community. For his part, Dr. Ismail Mohammed Kazem Al-Saadi, Head of the Measurement and Evaluation Unit at the College of Nursing, explained that the unit works in coordination with the University Measurement and Evaluation Unit to promote a culture of sound assessment and unify standards, which positively reflects on students and the educational process as a whole. Thus, the Measurement and Evaluation Unit at the College of Nursing, Al-Mustaqbal University, proves to be a key partner in the process of academic development and a true support to the college administration in achieving the university’s vision of advanced and sustainable health education.
