Al-Mustaqbal University Initiated the activities of its Fifth Annual Book Fair on Saturday morning, April 4, 2026, under the slogan “Our Book… Our Future,” under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi. The event drew wide participation from faculty members, students, and a distinguished group of intellectuals and individuals interested in cultural affairs, making it one of the most prominent cultural events among Iraqi universities. The opening ceremony featured a speech delivered on behalf of the University Presidency by Professor Dr. Abbas Abdul Ali Al-Bawi, Assistant President for Scientific Affairs. In his remarks, he emphasized that the fair represents a leading knowledge platform that reflects the university’s commitment to supporting culture, promoting scientific awareness, and strengthening students’ relationship with books as a fundamental pillar in building societies. The fair brings together 25 publishing houses from various countries, offering a rich selection of academic and literary publications, alongside a comprehensive cultural program that includes meetings with writers, poets, and authors, as well as distinguished theatrical performances and inspiring art exhibitions. The event also witnessed the launch of an initiative to distribute free book purchase coupons, aimed at encouraging students to read and fostering a culture of knowledge. The fair will continue for a full week, providing visitors with ample opportunity to explore the latest publications and engage in a variety of cultural activities. This event aligns with Al-Mustaqbal University’s vision of fostering an integrated academic and cultural environment.
