Conclusion of the 4th Al-Mustaqbal International Sustainability Week 2026

On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, Al-Mustaqbal University concluded the "4th International Sustainability Week" on its Babil campus. The closing ceremony was held under the patronage of the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, with broad participation from both faculty and students. The ceremony marked the end of a week filled with diverse activities. President Majdi emphasized the importance of the event as a platform for sustainability and praised the achievements made. Additionally, Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Academic Supervision, described the week as a "comprehensive display of creativity," highlighting the scientific conferences and innovative student projects. To conclude the event, the University President honored the distinguished colleges and staff for their hard work. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to becoming a leading "green university" that serves the community and helps build a sustainable future.

The fourth annual Al-Mustaqbal Sustainability Week kicks off

The 4th Al-Mustaqbal International Sustainability Week 2026 began on Sunday, April 14, at Al-Mustaqbal University in Babylon. The event was held under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and the supervision of the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, with wide participation from academics and the community. During the opening ceremony, which saw a large attendance, the University President announced the start of the week. The goal is to promote sustainability and raise environmental awareness. The program features scientific exhibitions of innovative projects, as well as art and sports activities that encourage teamwork among students. This initiative aims to strengthen sustainable development concepts and inspire young people. Al-Mustaqbal University Concludes the Fifth Edition of the International Book Fair

Al-Mustaqbal University concluded its fifth annual book fair on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. Held under the slogan "Our Books, Our Future," the five-day event featured 25 Iraqi and Arab publishing houses and was hosted at the Central Student Activities Hall. Under the patronage of University President Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, the fair attracted many academics and cultural figures. The program included seminars, poetry evenings, workshops, and book-signing events. Dr. Ahmed Hassan Shaker, Head of Student Activities, noted that this edition saw expanded participation and stronger cultural partnerships. The event ended with an award ceremony to honor the organizers and participants for their successful efforts

Al-Mustaqbal University Launches 5th International Book Fair

Al-Mustaqbal University launched its 5th Annual Book Fair on Saturday morning, April 4, 2026. This is the largest cultural event among Iraqi universities, held under the slogan "Our Books, Our Future." The opening ceremony was attended by many professors, students, and intellectuals. Prof. Dr. Abbas Abdul Ali Al-Bawi, Assistant to the University President, said the fair is a leading platform that shows the university's support for science and culture. The event features 25 international publishing houses, offering a wide variety of books, along with plays and art exhibitions. A special initiative was also started to give students free book coupons to encourage reading. The fair will last for a full week, giving everyone a chance to visit. This event reflects the university's vision to build a smart and educated generation for the future.

Al-Mustaqbal University prepares to start the fifth edition of the International Future Book Fair.

Al-Mustaqbal University will hold its 5th International Future Book Fair on April 2, 2026. This large gathering brings together many local and worldwide publishers, instructors, and intellectuals. The organizers completed all of the preparations and set up high-quality booths. They have planned a complete program with numerous speakers and workshops. These efforts demonstrate how the university sets cultural standards and contributes to the development of a smart society by connecting writers and readers. Many people are anticipated to attend, demonstrating how much the exhibition has expanded in its fifth year.

Your Iftar is on us Campaign

Student Activities Department at Al-Mustaqbal University proceeds in its Campaigns to distribute Food Baskets to Needy & Poor Families during the Holy Month of Ramadan, and thus reflecting the Values of Social Solidarity. This Initiative however embodies Al-Mustaqbal University Mission to serve Community and foster the Spirit of Cooperation among Students and Teachers. There is no doubt that Our University through such campaign has been seeking to ease down Needy Families Burden, and to bring joy to their hearts during this Blessed Month. The University confirms that this Campaign is not merely a support, but rather a Humanitarian Message, which reinforces the Values of Generosity, and urging for the necessity to help all those who need assistance so that Ramadan shall be a Month of Goodness, Love, and Compassion among all people

Ramadan Campaign

We would like to note that Student Activities Department at Al-Mustaqbal University has organized a Ramadan Campaign that aims to supporting Needy Families with Food Baskets. This Initiative contributes significantly to providing aid and easing burdens of Poor Families during the Holy Month of Ramadan. The Campaign however has had plans to distribute Food Baskets to Needy Families in different areas of Babylon Governorate at the start of the Holy Month, being part of Al-Mustaqbal University Efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals, contributing effectively in the Eradication of Poverty, as well as promoting Humanitarian Values. We are obliged to note as well that this Campaign is not limited to providing food support, but also aims to spreading the Spirit of Solidarity & Assistance among people, specifically Students, during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Al-Mustaqbal University Achieves First Position in the National Forum for Universities Innovation & Sustainability Challenge Competition

It is considerable to note that Al-Mustaqbal University has achieved First Position in the National Forum for Universities Innovation & Sustainability Challenge Competition that has been organized in the Governorate of Basra with the participation of 45 Iraqi Public as well as Private Universities and Colleges. We are glad to announce that Al-Mustaqbal University has won First Place in this Competition, which mainly aims to outspread the Culture of Sustainable Development that would preserve Environment, and meanwhile Eliminating Pollution through Educational Campaigns to be conducted by Scouting Teams. Finally, we are obliged to note that the Forum has witnessed different types of activities, including Visits to Land and Sea Areas, covering Historical, Touristic as well as Sports Sites in Basra, with a variety of Scouting Competitions and Prizes.
