Celebrating the 15th Anniversary of Al-Mustaqbal University as Part of the Third International Future Sustainability Week

Launch of the 4th Media Dialogue Forum Within the Activities of the 3rd International Future Week for Sustainability

On the morning of Saturday, April 19, 2025, the 4th Media Dialogue Forum kicked off with broad official and academic participation. The forum is part of the ongoing events of the 3rd International Future Week for Sustainability, held at Al-Mustaqbal University from April 16 to 24, 2025, as part of the university’s continuous efforts to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 – Quality Education. The event witnessed the presence of several distinguished figures, including: Prof. Dr. Adnan Al-Jumaili (Administrative Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research), Dr. Fadel Al-Badran (Deputy Minister of Culture), Mr. Ali Al-Fawaz (President of the Union of Iraqi Writers), Dr. Ali Maseer (President of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate), who were warmly received by Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, along with senior university staff and a wide range of academics, media professionals, and intellectuals from Iraq and abroad. Held under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and supervised by Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, the forum began with a keynote speech delivered on behalf of the university by Prof. Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision. He emphasized that selecting the theme of “Artificial Intelligence and its Applications in Media” reflects the university’s deep awareness of the accelerating global transformations and the growing impact of this technology on media production, distribution, audience analysis, and content creation. The forum addressed a variety of vital topics, including: AI ethics, AI in newsrooms, media marketing, and audience behavior analysis, highlighting that such discussions are a pivotal step towards developing a critical and practical understanding of digital transformation and building a future media landscape that is more innovative, human-centric, and impactful. Official and Academic Visit to Al-Mustaqbal University Natural Reserve

As part of the activities of the Third International Festival of Al-Mustaqbal Sustainability Week, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, led an official and academic delegation on a field visit to the university’s Natural Reserve, one of the university’s pioneering initiatives in the field of environmental preservation and biodiversity protection. This visit underscores the university's commitment to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 15 – Life on Land, through raising environmental awareness and supporting sustainable initiatives. The delegation toured the reserve, which includes vast green spaces, a diverse range of native plants, and a collection of animals living in a safe and natural environment. Inauguration of the Artificial Intelligence Technology Incubator at Al-Mustaqbal University as Part of the 3rd International Future Sustainability Week

On the third day of the 3rd International Future Sustainability Week, held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, Al-Mustaqbal University inaugurated the Artificial Intelligence Technology Incubator—the first of its kind among Iraqi universities—during a ceremony attended by a distinguished group of academic and governmental figures. In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, emphasized that the launch of the incubator is a strategic step toward fostering innovation and scientific research in AI, and reflects the university’s commitment to sustainable development, particularly Sustainable Development Goal 8 (SDG 8), which focuses on economic growth and innovation-driven employment opportunities. Prof. Dr. Nidhal Khdhair Al-Abbadi, Director of the Al-Mustaqbal Center for AI Applications, presented a detailed overview of the incubator’s mission and objectives, which include: Supporting researchers and innovators in developing AI-based solutions to address both local and global challenges. On Thursday, April 17, 2025, Al-Mustaqbal University concluded the First International Conference on Modern Technologies and Their Applications in Sustainable Education, held as part of the Third Al-Mustaqbal International Sustainability Week Festival.
