The Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS) has launched the NextGen Student platform, bringing together students from member universities to enhance youth engagement in academic, cultural, social, and athletic activities, while contributing to sustainability, peace, and global prosperity. The platform includes representatives from around 150 universities, with each institution nominating one male and one female student to its General Assembly. In addition, 12 members are elected to serve on the Executive Board. From Al-Mustaqbal University, Qasim Mohammed Jasim, a student in the Department of Computer Technologies at the College of Engineering, was elected as a Board Member, assuming responsibility for public relations and IT management. This achievement reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s active role within EURAS, as its President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, currently serves on the Union’s Board of Directors. The university’s engagement further demonstrates its commitment to strengthening international partnerships and advancing Sustainable Development Goal 17 (SDG 17): Partnerships for the Goals. In preparation for the upcoming Sustainability Ambassadors Camp scheduled for early October at the Babylon Tourist Resort, Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuheiri, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, met with Qasim Mohammed Jasim to explore opportunities for organizing special activities under the platform. The meeting aimed to amplify the voices of Al-Mustaqbal students within the local community as well as across national and international academic circles. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Sameer Badrawi, Director of Cultural Relations at the University Presidency.
As part of its commitment to engaging with reputable academic experiences and building effective international collaborations, Al-Mustaqbal University participated in the First Empowerment Forum for Mansoura University Students in the Arab Republic of Egypt, represented by Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, Director of Academic and Scientific Supervision at the university presidency. The forum was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, with the attendance of his vice presidents, a number of faculty members, and students. The event reflected Mansoura University’s strong commitment to empowering youth and fostering their leadership and creative skills. This participation comes in line with the directives of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University who consistently emphasizes the importance of the university’s presence in international scientific and academic platforms. Such engagement strengthens the university’s reputation, opens doors to new experiences, and paves the way for strategic partnerships with prestigious global institutions. Prof. Dr. Al-Zuhairy praised Mansoura University’s pioneering initiative in organizing the forum, expressing his appreciation for the high level of student engagement and the significant attention shown by the university administration. He affirmed that such initiatives provide valuable opportunities for students to voice their ideas, develop their skills, and serve as inspiring models that can support the University of Al-Mustaqbal’s journey toward academic excellence and global outreach . In another part of his speech, Prof. Dr. Al-Zuhairy extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Presidency of Mansoura University for the significant support provided to the students of the Colleges of Medicine and Engineering at the Al-Mustaqbal University who recently participated in a training program at Mansoura University within the framework of the student mobility initiative adopted by the Al-Mustaqbal University. The university’s participation in this forum aligns with its clear strategy to enhance academic, research, and student cooperation, in accordance with its vision to prepare a generation equipped with critical thinking, innovation, and the ability to face future challenges with confidence and competence .
Prof. Sherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, accompanied by Prof. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of AL-Mstaqbal University of Iraq, conducted a comprehensive field tour of several faculties and centers at Mansoura University. The visit aimed to explore the university’s academic and research capabilities, its modern infrastructure, and to discuss opportunities for strengthening joint cooperation. The tour took place as part of the official visit of the AL-Mstaqbal University delegation to Mansoura University. Joining the tour was Prof. Tarek Galoush, Vice President of Mansoura University for Postgraduate Studies and Research. The accompanying delegation from AL-Mstaqbal University included Prof. Muzafar Sadiq Hassan, Director of Academic and Scientific Supervision; Prof. Ammar Al-Husseini, Dean of the College of Law; Prof. Saad Al-Alam, Director of the Assessment and Evaluation Unit; and Dr. Eman Abdulaziz from the Sustainable Development Division. During the tour, Prof. Sherif Khater emphasized that Mansoura University places great importance on developing the learning environment through modernizing academic programs and equipping them with the latest technologies. He further noted that collaboration with Future University of Iraq represents a model of Arab integration in higher education. For his part, Prof. Hassan Shaker praised the advanced facilities at Mansoura University, describing the visit as an important step toward building a strategic partnership that will open new horizons for academic and research cooperation between the two institutions. The visit began at the Faculty of Law, where the delegation was received by Prof. Walid El-Shennawi, Dean of the Faculty; Prof. Tamer Saleh, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Alaa Al-Tamimi, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Moatazz Bellah El-Bahrawi, General Supervisor of the International Students Office. The delegation toured the faculty’s council hall, lecture halls, major auditoriums, electronic testing hall, and library—one of the largest law libraries in Egypt—as well as the moot court and legal clinic. These facilities provide a comprehensive training environment that prepares students for practical legal practice, establishing the faculty as one of the leading law schools in the Arab world, combining academic excellence with modern training programs. The tour then continued to the Faculty of Commerce, where the delegation was welcomed by Prof. Ahmed Matawa, Dean of the Faculty; Prof. Marwa Hassan, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Director of the International Relations Office; and Prof. Amr Nazeih, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, alongside several faculty members. The delegation visited advanced training and simulation laboratories, including the stock market and banking simulators, in addition to large lecture halls and electronic examination centers. The faculty is distinguished by its pivotal role in graduating highly qualified specialists in economics and business, with a strong focus on practical training and integrating technology into the educational process. The program also included a visit to “Entilaq” Information and Communication Technology Company, attended by Prof. Sherif Keshk, Executive Director; Prof. Mahmoud Saafan, Deputy Executive Director; Prof. Mohamed Handousa, Deputy Executive Director; and Prof. Mostafa El-Bandarari, Legal Advisor. The delegation was briefed on the company’s role in supporting digital transformation and artificial intelligence applications at Mansoura University, as well as in other educational, governmental, and private institutions. The company provides integrated technology services, including software development, electronic systems, network and data center infrastructure, and the development of websites in line with international standards. Prof. Sherif Keshk also presented the company’s key educational technology initiatives, including the “Maa’ref” platform—Egypt’s first digital university platform offering high-quality educational courses—and the “Knowture” platform, developed in collaboration with Mansoura University’s Postgraduate Studies Sector, which delivers specialized lectures to researchers in cooperation with international academics. These initiatives are expected to strengthen research and technological collaboration between Mansoura University and Future University of Iraq. The tour concluded with a visit to the Special Programs Building at the Faculty of Engineering, where the delegation was received by Prof. Sherif El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Amira Yassin Hekal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development. The delegation reviewed the state-of-the-art facilities of the building, which hosts specialized credit-hour programs and advanced training laboratories designed to graduate highly skilled engineers capable of competing regionally and internationally. The programs support engineering innovation, industrial development plans, and reinforce Mansoura University’s position as a leading center for engineering education and research. At the end of the tour, the AL-Mstaqbal University delegation expressed their admiration for the advanced facilities and modern infrastructure of Mansoura University, affirming that the visit represents a new milestone in expanding academic and research collaboration in service of the two universities’ shared mission to advance higher education locally and regionally.
Almustaqbal University announced the signing of a preliminary cooperation protocol with Mansoura University in the Arab Republic of Egypt, marking a significant step toward hosting a number of Mansoura University’s postgraduate programs at Almustaqbal University’s campus in Babylon, Iraq. The initiative aims to support scientific research, advance higher education, and enhance the fields of science and technology through the exchange of academic and research expertise between the two institutions. The protocol was signed during an official visit by Prof. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Almustaqbal University, and his accompanying delegation to Mansoura University on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. The delegation was received by Prof. Sherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, along with the university’s vice presidents. The Almustaqbal University delegation included Prof. Muzafar Sadiq Al-Zuheiri, Director of Academic and Scientific Supervision; Prof. Ammar Al-Husseini, Dean of the College of Law; Prof. Saad Al-Alam, Director of the Assessment and Evaluation Unit; and Dr. Iman Abdulaziz from the Sustainable Development Division. The ceremony featured a documentary film showcasing the experience of Almustaqbal University students who recently participated in a short training program at Mansoura University, followed by an exchange of commemorative shields between the two universities and the recognition of the Almustaqbal delegation for their dedicated efforts. This collaboration reflects Almustaqbal University’s vision of academic leadership and international openness, reinforcing its role as a pioneering institution in Iraq committed to preparing a generation of researchers and students capable of keeping pace with scientific advancements and contributing effectively to society and sustainable development.
Professor Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, announced that the university has obtained a Copyright Protection Certificate from the National Center for Copyright Protection and Neighboring Rights at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities, for its document titled “Intellectual Property at Al-Mustaqbal University.” With this achievement, Al-Mustaqbal University has become the first academic institution in Iraq to launch and establish an institutional policy document dedicated to intellectual property protection. In a statement to the university’s media office, Professor Majdi emphasized that this milestone represents a historic step in the university’s journey toward leadership and excellence. He noted that the document was first introduced during the Future Sustainability Week Festival held last April, and now stands as a pioneering institutional reference that strengthens the culture of creativity and innovation in Iraq. He further explained that intellectual property protection is not merely a legal formality, but rather a fundamental pillar in building a knowledge-based economy driven by ideas and innovations. This protection, he stressed, ensures exclusive rights for innovators, researchers, and entrepreneurs, enabling them to develop their work without fear of infringement or imitation. It also creates investment and commercial opportunities that grant institutions a competitive edge, attract potential partners and investors, and generate new income streams through licensing or transfer of rights. Moreover, it provides a safe environment that fosters research and development, while supporting entrepreneurs in securing funding for their ventures. Concluding his statement, the University President reaffirmed Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to its pioneering role in empowering innovators and researchers, highlighting that this achievement will further entrench the culture of intellectual property as a cornerstone in building a modern Iraq founded on knowledge and innovation.
Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi; President of AI-Mustaqbal university in Iraq, has endorsed the University participation as a key partner in Project (Babylon-2) scheduled to launch on December 1, 2025. The (Babylon-2) project aims to rebuild the knowledge and skills necessary to protect historical monuments, especially archaeological sites located in raw soil (original clay soil), which are extremely fragile areas already undergoing rapid deterioration. The shortage of knowledge and personnel capable of adequately managing this type of heritage, which has been significantly exacerbated by the problems that have plagued the country over the years, places particular emphasis on partnering with relevant foreign groups, academic and other institutions, to conduct and implement a high-quality training courses and activities in this context. In line with this specific objectives, the project’s local and international partners will include: - University of Cagliari - UNICA - Project Coordinator / Italy - Sardinia Region Governorate / Italy - World Monuments Fund (WMF) / International non-profit organization / USA - CRAterre (International Centre on Earthen Architecture) / France - SBAH – State Board of Antiquities (Public Institution - Ministry) / Iraq - Al-Nahrain University, Baghdad / Iraq - Karbala University, Karbala / Iraq - Al-Mustaqbal University, Babylon / Iraq A pilot construction model (inspired by the Maison 24 heures built inside the Campus in Grenoble by CRAterre in 1986) is to be build inside the Babylon archaeological or in the premises of Al-Mustaqbal campus. The project will be implemented by students and faculty staff from Iraqi universities and experts /supervisors from the above-mentioned local and foreign partners.
In line with Al-Mustaqbal University’s vision of expanding its international partnerships and strengthening its global presence—and in harmony with the initiative of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research to internationalize higher education in Iraq—Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of the University, held a round of discussions via video conference with Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) in Malaysia. The discussions focused on ways to develop academic and scientific cooperation between the two institutions, particularly in areas of mutual interest within technology and engineering. The President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, chaired an extensive meeting dedicated to reviewing and discussing the academic and scientific plans submitted by the university’s formations for the upcoming 2025–2026 academic year. The plans covered key areas including scientific research, local and international partnerships, sustainability, scientific conferences, and workshops. In his remarks, the University President praised the great efforts exerted by the university’s academic and administrative leadership, faculty members, and staff, which have resulted in significant achievements at both the local and international levels. These include advancing in several international rankings, leading private universities in the Iraqi University Ranking, obtaining institutional accreditation, achieving high success rates in several academic programs, and establishing important partnerships with prestigious international universities. The meeting, attended by vice-presidents, several deans, the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, as well as directors of centers and departments at the university presidency, featured a comprehensive review of reports and indicators related to the aforementioned areas. Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi shared his observations and recommendations on the presented plans, emphasizing the need to continue working with determination and high ambition to deliver the best levels of performance in line with the university’s vision, mission, and objectives.
