Al-Mustaqbal University Hosts High-Level Gathering in the Presence of the Governor of Babylon and University Presidents, Coinciding with the Visit of Mansoura University’s President

In a distinguished academic atmosphere, and upon the kind invitation of Professor Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the university hosted a high-profile official and academic gathering. The event coincided with the visit of Professor Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and his deputy, Professor Dr. Tarek Mostafa Ghalloush, marking the first visit of its kind to Iraq. President of Mansoura University Announces Free Summer Training Opportunities for Al-Mustaqbal University Students in Iraq

As part of efforts to strengthen academic and cultural ties between Egypt and Iraq, Professor Dr. Sherif Khater, President of Mansoura University in Egypt, announced the provision of free training opportunities for students of Al-Mustaqbal University during the summer break. The announcement was made during his official visit to Al-Mustaqbal University in Iraq. The training program will span two weeks and will include free accommodation and housing within the Mansoura University campus in Egypt. It is specifically designed for students from the medical colleges (Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy), as well as students from the Colleges of Engineering, Science, and Physical Education. Students from other disciplines who are interested in visiting Egypt and exploring advanced academic programs are also welcome to participate. Concluding their visit to Iraq, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, and his guest, Professor Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University in Egypt, held a series of productive meetings with senior officials at the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The meetings were held under the patronage of His Excellency Minister Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, who delegated his advisor, Professor Dr. Alaa Abdul Hassan, to represent him during the reception. Al-Mustaqbal University Participates in the Launch Ceremony of the Third Edition of the “Study in Iraq” Program

Al-Mustaqbal University took part in the official ceremony launching the third edition of the “Study in Iraq” program for the 2025–2026 academic year. The event was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, Minister of Higher Education, and was attended by high-level representatives from international organizations, the Arab and foreign diplomatic corps, as well as a number of presidents of Iraqi universities, academic figures, and members of parliament. The university’s delegation included Assistant Professor Dr. Sameer Ibrahim Abbas, Director of the Department of International and Local Cultural Relations, and Mr. Mohammed Fadel Mousa, representing the Department of Registration and Student Affairs. This participation reflects the university’s commitment to supporting national initiatives and programs that promote internationalization and foster scientific collaboration with countries around the world. In his speech, the Minister announced the offering of over 16,000 scholarships through the new edition of the program, covering a wide range of academic disciplines, with a strong emphasis on cultural exchange and the enhancement of research environments. He also announced the establishment of the “Study in Iraq” Student Association for international students and declared April 30 of each year as the official International Student Day in Iraq. Al-Mustaqbal University Receives Delegation from the World Monuments Fund and Explores Prospects for Joint Cooperation in Heritage Preservation

In alignment with the directives of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, and within the framework of expanding international engagement and fostering academic and cultural collaboration, Al-Mustaqbal University welcomed a delegation from the World Monuments Fund (WMF)—the globally renowned, independent organization dedicated to the protection and preservation of cultural and historical heritage. Headquartered in New York City, WMF operates through a network of offices and affiliates around the world. The delegation was received by Prof. Dr. Hussein Waheed, Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities, Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuheiri, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, and Dr. Sameer Ibrahim Badrawi, Director of International Relations. Discussions during the meeting focused on the prospects of cooperation between both parties, particularly with the university’s Department of Archaeology. The dialogue emphasized training and capacity-building programs for students and faculty members, based on international best practices in the conservation and restoration of archaeological sites and monuments. Additional topics included the integration of related engineering disciplines into heritage preservation projects, the development of joint research initiatives, and the organization of workshops and academic conferences in collaboration with both local and international partners. Al-Mustaqbal University Honors Organizing Committee Members of World Intellectual Property Day Celebration Al-Mustaqbal University honored the members of the organizing committee and a select group of university staff who contributed to the success of the World Intellectual Property Day celebration, held on April 26, 2026, under the patronage of the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi. The event was attended by representatives from various government ministries and institutions concerned with intellectual property, the Iraqi Association of Inventors and Innovators, as well as a distinguished group of academics, inventors, and stakeholders from within the university. Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi expressed his appreciation for the dedication and professionalism demonstrated by the participants, presenting them with certificates of recognition as a token of gratitude for their significant role in making the event a success. The certificates were awarded by Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuheiri, Head of Scientific and Academic Supervision at the university, as a gesture of appreciation for their outstanding efforts. It is worth noting that during the World Intellectual Property Day celebration, Al-Mustaqbal University announced the launch of its official Intellectual Property Policy Document—becoming the first academic institution in Iraq to adopt such a policy. Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majid, President of AL-Mustaqbal University, met with a delegation from the Lithuanian higher education institution LIETUVOS INŽINERIJOS KOLEGIJA (LIK), headed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ernesta Liniauskienė.

The meeting focused on exploring avenues for academic collaboration between the two institutions, particularly in the field of engineering—a core specialization at LIK. Both parties expressed strong interest in fostering academic partnerships and exchanging expertise in engineering programs, aiming to promote innovation and enhance students’ competencies in this vital discipline. During the discussions, Prof. Dr. Majid received an official invitation to attend an international conference hosted by LIK in Lithuania. The conference will also serve as a platform to discuss potential cooperation frameworks and expand future partnership opportunities between the institutions. It is worth noting that LIK is one of the oldest and most respected higher education institutions in Lithuania. Established in 1920, the institution boasts over a century of experience in engineering education. LIK currently offers 15 professional bachelor’s degree programs, emphasizing a strong integration of theoretical knowledge and practical skills—equipping graduates for successful careers in a competitive job market.
