The Measurement and Evaluation Unit at the University of Al-Mustaqbal Organizes an International Training Workshop on “Table of Specifications”

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of the University of Al-Mustaqbal, and under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Abbas Abdul Ali Al-Bawi, Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, and the administration of Prof. Dr. Saad Fathallah Elalem, Director of the Measurement and Evaluation Unit at the University of Al-Mustaqbal, and Prof. Dr. Maha Abdo El-Ashmawy, Director of the Measurement and Evaluation Center at Mansoura University – Arab Republic of Egypt, the Measurement and Evaluation Unit and the Continuing Education Center at the University of Al-Mustaqbal, in cooperation with the Measurement and Evaluation Center at Mansoura University, organized an international specialized training workshop entitled “Table of Specifications” on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, with wide participation from faculty members of the University of Al-Mustaqbal. The workshop was delivered by Prof. Dr. Reham Mohamed Ahmed El-Ghoul, Professor of Educational Technology at the Faculty of Education and Director of the Electronic Testing and Electronic Grading Unit at the Measurement and Evaluation Center, Mansoura University. The workshop focused on the scientific foundations for test construction in accordance with modern principles of measurement and evaluation, as well as the importance of course specification in identifying learning outcomes and aligning them with course content. The workshop addressed, in an applied manner, the concept of the Table of Specifications as a key organizational tool that ensures balance among educational objectives, course content, and cognitive levels. It also explained the steps for constructing the table, determining objective weights, and specifying the number of test items to ensure fairness and comprehensiveness in assessment, in addition to presenting practical models applicable to university courses. The evaluation results of the workshop indicated a high level of participant satisfaction, with overall evaluation rates exceeding 88% across most workshop dimensions, particularly in terms of clarity of objectives, relevance of the content to academic practice, and administrative organization. These results reflect the success of the workshop in meeting the professional development needs of faculty members. The workshop concluded with an open discussion session, during which participants expressed their appreciation for the scientific content and the interactive delivery style of the trainer. They also emphasized the importance of continuing such specialized workshops, as they contribute to enhancing assessment skills and improving the quality of the educational process in alignment with institutional accreditation requirements and academic quality standards adopted by the University of Al-Mustaqbal.

Al-Mustaqbal University Organizes International Workshop on "Preparing and Designing Test Items" in Collaboration with Mansoura University

In its ongoing effort to enhance the educational process and adopt international standards in academic assessment, the Measurement and Evaluation Unit, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Center at Al-Mustaqbal University, organized a specialized workshop titled "Preparing and Designing Test Items," with wide participation from the teaching staff. The workshop was held in international cooperation with the Measurement and Evaluation Center at Mansoura University, Egypt. The sessions were delivered by Prof. Dr. Engy Fikry Mohamed Resha, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Mansoura University, under the supervision and management of Prof. Dr. Saad Fathallah Elalem, Director of the Measurement and Evaluation Unit at Al-Mustaqbal University, and Prof. Dr. Maha Abdo Al-Ashmawy, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Director of the Measurement and Evaluation Center at Mansoura University. The workshop focused on the technical aspects of test construction, reviewing fundamental principles for drafting clear and precise scientific questions, and linking them to a specification table to ensure comprehensive assessment across all cognitive objectives. It also covered modern strategies for designing various types of questions suitable for measuring students’ achievement levels. The workshop witnessed high engagement from participants, who praised the scientific rigor and practical expertise presented, emphasizing the importance of such programs in developing their skills in measurement and evaluation. Participants expressed satisfaction with the coherence and sequence of the topics and their relevance to daily academic work. This initiative is part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s ongoing developmental programs aimed at enhancing academic collaboration and exchanging expertise with leading universities, contributing to achieving the highest standards of academic quality.

The Measurement and Evaluation Unit Organizes a Training Course on Exam Committee Procedures at Al-Mustaqbal University

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shaker Magdy, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and supervision of Assistant Prof. Dr. Abbas Abdul Ali Al-Bawi, the Measurement and Evaluation Unit, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Center, organized a training course titled: "Exam Committee Procedures – Organizational, Technical, and Legal Aspects," on Tuesday, 9/12/2025. The course targeted practical assistants in the colleges, heads and members of exam committees, and officials of the Measurement and Evaluation Unit, focusing on standardizing procedures and enhancing the efficiency of work within committees in line with approved academic standards. The course was managed by Prof. Dr. Saad Elalem, with lectures delivered by: Assistant Prof. Dr. Amin Muhammad Kitab, on the operation of committees according to the Bologna Process and the electronic system, including student data entry, grading, handling technical errors, and ensuring data accuracy. Assistant Prof. Dr. Ezzedine Hussein, on organizational and technical aspects within the committees, task distribution among members, monitoring exams in the halls, grading, and ensuring smooth operations. Assistant Prof. Dr. Fatima Abdul Rahim, on the legal framework for exam committees, addressing penalties and legal procedures in cases of errors or negligence, emphasizing adherence to regulations to protect students’ and the institution’s rights. The course covered key topics including the preparation of exam committees, ensuring readiness of halls and technical requirements, managing and analyzing electronic exam data, internal organization of committees, assigning responsibilities to heads and members, monitoring exam progress, and reviewing results. It also focused on legal and ethical aspects of exam administration, including safeguarding student rights, adhering to university regulations, and applying penalties when necessary, alongside practical exercises to enhance participants’ ability to handle daily challenges within the committees. The course concluded with an interactive discussion session, reflecting participants’ interest in such programs for improving institutional performance and ensuring a well-organized and fair exam environment, while emphasizing the importance of ongoing training programs to strengthen the efficiency of exam committees.

Al-Mustaqbal University's Measurement and Evaluation Unit Organizes a Specialized Workshop on "Global Examination Systems"

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, the Measurement and Evaluation Unit, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, organized a specialized workshop titled "Global Examination Systems" on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. The workshop was presented by Prof. Dr. Saad Fathallah Elalem, Director of the Measurement and Evaluation Unit, and Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Dawood Al-Rubaie from the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. It covered the latest international standards adopted in designing and managing examinations, and ways to develop the testing environment in accordance with global academic quality requirements. The workshop witnessed a wide and distinguished attendance of teaching and administrative staff, with (97) trainees participating. The workshop aimed to highlight international standards adopted in test construction and discuss modern mechanisms for student assessment to ensure the quality of educational outcomes. The sessions were characterized by a solid scientific approach combining practical experience and academic knowledge, where participants praised the clarity of the training material, its logical sequence, and its significant relevance to the nature of their academic work. At the conclusion of the event, evaluations reflected a generally positive impression among attendees, who appreciated the high level of organization and administrative support, confirming their tangible benefit from the program content in developing their skills in measurement and evaluation. Participants also expressed a clear desire for the continued organization of such specialized programs in the future due to their effective impact on developing the educational environment. This workshop comes as part of a series of developmental programs adopted by Al-Mustaqbal University to enhance the efficiency of its teaching staff and keep pace with global developments in the field of higher education.

Training Workshop Entitled “Preparing the Skills Assessment Guide in University of Al-Mustaqbal Courses”

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Al-Mustaqbal, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, and under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Abbas Al-Bawei, the Scientific Assistant to the University President, the Measurement and Evaluation Unit, in cooperation with the Quality Assurance Unit, organized a training workshop entitled “Preparing the Skills Assessment Guide in University of Al-Mustaqbal Courses.” This workshop comes within the framework of the university’s academic development programs aimed at enhancing the quality of education. The workshop was delivered by: • Prof. Dr. Saad Fathallah Elalem – Director of the Measurement and Evaluation Unit • Prof. Dr. Nada Khazal – Head of Measurement and Evaluation at the College of Pharmacy • Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Shaalan – Head of Measurement and Evaluation at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences During the workshop, the presenters reviewed the contents of the proposed guide and provided samples of evaluation forms used by course instructors, discussing mechanisms for standardizing and applying these forms across all university colleges. The workshop aimed to unify the process of preparing the Skills Assessment Guide in the university’s courses, contributing to the development of the measurement and evaluation system and the enhancement of educational quality at the University of Al-Mustaqbal, in line with the university’s vision of achieving academic excellence and comprehensive quality assurance in educational performance.

Awareness and Training Seminar for First-Year Students of the Computer Engineering Technologies Department – Al-Mustaqbal University

Under the patronage and supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies, Asst. Prof. Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, and in the presence of the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Amin Mohammed Kitab, the Head of the Computer Engineering Technologies Department, Prof. Dr. Abdulkarim Abdulrahman, and the Measurement and Evaluation Unit Coordinator at the college, an awareness and training seminar was organized for first-year students in preparation for the final examinations. The seminar was conducted by Ms. Zahraa Hazem Ubaid, a lecturer in the Computer Engineering Technologies Department. The session focused on the examination system adopted by the college, including both essay-type questions and multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The seminar provided a detailed explanation of how to interact with the examination paper and outlined the procedures to be followed during the exam to ensure smooth conduct, fairness, and transparency in the assessment process. Additionally, the seminar reviewed the examination regulations that students are required to adhere to and emphasized the importance of compliance. Sample exam formats were also presented to enhance students’ understanding of the examination system. This seminar is part of a series of awareness workshops and activities organized by the college in collaboration with examination committees and the university’s Measurement and Evaluation Unit. The initiative aims to prepare students both psychologically and academically to perform efficiently in exams, in alignment with academic quality standards.

The College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies at Al-Mustaqbal University Organizes a Series of Training Workshops to Enhance First-Year Students' Exam Preparedness

In line with the directives of the Measurement and Evaluation Unit at Al-Mustaqbal University regarding training students on examination systems and instructions, and under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of the University, and the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Abbas Al-Bawi, Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, with the follow-up of Prof. Dr. Saad Fathallah Elalam, Director of the Measurement and Evaluation Unit, the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies organized a series of training workshops for first-year students. These workshops were conducted under the direct supervision of Prof. Dr. Azher Mohsen Abd, Dean of the College, and Dr. Ameen Kitab, the College's Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, along with Asst. Prof. Dr. Hassan Hamad Ali, Head of Measurement and Evaluation at the College. The workshops included two training sessions for students in the Biomedical Engineering and Medical Devices Engineering Technologies departments, aiming to prepare them for final exams by training them on answering techniques and the use of the bubble sheet system. Workshop for the Biomedical Engineering Department The session was led by Dr. Maher Rahman, faculty member in the Biomedical Engineering Department. The workshop focused on enhancing students’ skills in handling the bubble sheet, addressing the most common challenges they face during exams. Key topics included how to correctly shade answers to avoid frequent errors such as double or incorrect shading. The session also introduced effective answering strategies such as elimination techniques, time management, and critical analysis of questions. Students practiced these strategies using real bubble sheets in an environment simulating exam conditions. Workshop for the Medical Devices Engineering Technologies Department This workshop was delivered by Dr. Ziyad Taha Yaseen, a faculty member in the department. It focused on the university exam system and how to deal with both bubble sheets and essay-type questions. The workshop included a detailed explanation of the examination instructions issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, how to correctly fill in student information on the bubble sheet, and proper shading techniques to avoid errors that may affect automated evaluation. Additionally, guidance was provided on how to organize answers to essay questions in a clear and scientific manner to ensure accurate and coherent communication of ideas. Both workshops witnessed strong engagement from the students, who raised several questions and inquiries that were addressed directly by the instructors. The organizers emphasized the importance of such awareness sessions in academically and psychologically supporting students and preparing them to perform confidently during final exams. These workshops are part of a series of training activities implemented by the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies in coordination with the Measurement and Evaluation Unit, aiming to enhance students’ academic awareness, ensure a fair and well-organized exam environment, and improve educational outcomes at Al-Mustaqbal University.

College of Fine Arts Organizes an Awareness Workshop for First-Year Students on Examination Guidelines and Discipline Mechanisms

As part of the directives of the Measurement and Evaluation Unit at Al-Mustaqbal University to train students on exam systems and examination regulations in preparation for the final exams, and under the patronage of the respected University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, with the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Abbas Al-Bawi, Assistant to the University President for Scientific Affairs, and the follow-up of Prof. Dr. Saad Fathallah Al-Alam, Director of the Measurement and Evaluation Unit, the College of Fine Arts organized an awareness workshop for first-year students entitled: "Examination Guidelines and Discipline Mechanisms." The workshop was held under the direct supervision of the respected Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Huda Hashem Mohammed, and the Scientific Assistant, Prof. Dr. Ali Atiyah Mousa. The event also witnessed active participation from department heads: Prof. Dr. Aref Waheed Ibrahim, Head of the Art Education Department, and Prof. Dr. Mahmoud, Head of the Design Department, along with faculty members: Asst. Lecturer Mi’ad Aboud Manee’, Asst. Lecturer Hussein Lutfi, and the College’s Measurement and Evaluation Officer, Asst. Lecturer Suheila Kadhem Jassim. The workshop took place on Saturday, May 17, 2025, and included students from both the morning and evening classes. It aimed to prepare students mentally and organizationally to perform well in the final examinations according to university rules and regulations. The session provided a detailed explanation of the procedures for both theoretical and practical exams, highlighted the key examination guidelines to be followed, and emphasized the importance of discipline inside exam halls. Students were also advised to complete the payment of their final tuition installment and to register through the Ministry of Higher Education’s electronic portal designated for first-year students. This workshop came in line with the directives of the Measurement and Evaluation Unit and the university’s vision to ensure exam quality and to create an organized academic environment. The event witnessed positive interaction from students who showed great interest in the guidance and instructions provided. At the conclusion of the workshop, the organizers expressed their sincere wishes for the students’ success in the upcoming examinations, emphasizing the importance of full adherence to the examination guidelines to ensure a smooth, transparent exam process in line with Al-Mustaqbal University’s quality standards.
