Workshop on “The Role of Women in Identifying Environmental Risks”
As part of its efforts to promote environmental awareness, the Women’s Affairs Division at Al-Mustaqbal University organized a workshop on August 23, 2025, entitled “The Role of Women in Identifying Environmental Risks.” The workshop was delivered by Asst. Lecturer Rusul Naama Kamal from the College of Arts and Humanities, with the attendance of several faculty members.
The workshop highlighted the importance of women’s participation in environmental issues and their active role in identifying risks and challenges facing society.
Key Themes of the Workshop:
1. Women and Environmental Awareness:
• Women, due to their close connection with families and local communities, are highly capable of observing environmental changes.
• They play a fundamental role in spreading environmental awareness within families, schools, and society.
2. Identifying Environmental Risks:
• Women contribute to monitoring issues such as pollution, water scarcity, poor waste management, and land degradation.
• They are able to provide practical solutions linked to daily life challenges.
3. Participation in Decision-Making:
• The necessity of involving women in environmental policies and sustainable development plans.
• Strengthening their presence in environmental institutions and organizations.
4. Examples and Successful Experiences:
• Showcasing cases of women who contributed to recycling projects, tree-planting campaigns, and energy conservation initiatives.
5. Recommendations:
• Empowering women through environmental training and education programs.
• Supporting women-led environmental initiatives.
• Involving women in designing strategies to address environmental risks to ensure sustainable solutions.
