The Women’s Affairs Division at Al-Mustaqbal University, in cooperation with the College of Arts / Department of English, organized a seminar entitled “Women’s Empowerment and Education: The Path to Sustainable Development” within the framework of institutional participation and reform – First Pillar, on (September 13, 2025).
The seminar was delivered by Assist. Lecturer Rusul Neama Kamal from the College of Arts and Humanities, who emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment and their role in modern education as a cornerstone for achieving sustainable development.
She pointed out that education is not limited to providing women with knowledge, skills, and modern teaching methods, but also grants them the ability to actively participate in economic, social, and political life. She further explained that investing in women’s education positively reflects on both family and society by reducing poverty, improving health standards, increasing employment opportunities, and enhancing gender equality.
The seminar also discussed the key challenges facing women’s education, such as poverty, restrictive social traditions, and weak supportive policies, while presenting solutions to enhance women’s access to education and continuous training.
The event concluded with an affirmation that achieving sustainable development requires the integration of governmental, societal, and international efforts to ensure fair and equitable education, opening broader horizons for women to participate in shaping the future in light of modern developments
