The Women’s Affairs Division at the University of Al-Mustaqbal participated in the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought, held in the presence of high-level representatives from the United Nations, government officials, and prominent academic figures. This participation reflects the university’s firm commitment to environmental and developmental issues of both human and strategic importance. The event featured discussions with representatives from UN organizations, alongside national and academic leaders, focusing on strengthening cooperation to address the challenges of desertification and drought—threats that continue to jeopardize food security and environmental stability in many regions. The Women’s Affairs Division’s involvement aimed to highlight the critical role of women in combating climate change and desertification, through awareness-raising, sustainable practices, and the promotion of initiatives such as afforestation and natural resource conservation. This stems from a deep belief that women are key partners in achieving sustainable development.
