Awareness Seminar for Women Entitled: “Combating Extremism through Dialogue and Thought: The Role of Youth in Building Peace”
Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies (Women’s Affairs Unit), and in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Division at Al-Mustaqbal University, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sahira Qahtan Abduljabbar, Head of the Women’s Affairs Division, an awareness seminar dedicated to women was held on September 9, 2025, entitled:
“Combating Extremism through Dialogue and Thought: The Role of Youth in Building Peace.”
The seminar was delivered by Lecturer Sally Silan Hussein, within the framework of Pillar: Participation and Institutional Reform, Clause No. 7.
The seminar addressed several key themes, including the importance of promoting the values of dialogue and tolerance, highlighting the role of youth in fostering a culture of peace, and building a cohesive society away from manifestations of extremism. It also emphasized the importance of involving women in addressing intellectual and social challenges, as they are essential partners in shaping future generations and spreading a culture of moderation.
This activity comes as part of a series of events organized by the university in its continuous efforts to promote human rights concepts, consolidate the values of justice and citizenship, and encourage students to actively contribute to building a future characterized by security and stability.
