As part of efforts to promote democratic awareness and support effective political participation, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the College of Nursing at the University of Al-Mustaqbal, organized a comprehensive awareness campaign titled “Your Voice is the Nation’s Future.” The campaign aims to encourage women to participate positively and actively in the upcoming parliamentary elections in Iraq.
The campaign activities were held within the college premises and included a variety of events such as educational lectures, awareness brochures, and open dialogues. These activities focused on highlighting the important political role of Iraqi women and emphasized their position as essential partners in decision-making, community-building, and the promotion of true citizenship values.
The campaign underscored that voting is a constitutional right and a national responsibility that must be embraced by all. It also stressed the importance of choosing competent candidates—those with national vision and realistic programs dedicated to serving the community and strengthening its institutions.
In her remarks, the Head of the Women’s Affairs Division expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the College of Nursing for its active role in supporting women’s causes. She pointed out that this initiative is part of a broader series of activities aimed at empowering women politically and socially.
It is worth noting that this campaign aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 5, which focuses on gender equality, and Goal 16, which advocates for strong institutions and inclusive, transparent societies.
