The opening session featured keynote addresses by Stefania Giannini, UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Education; Tomas Lamanauskas, Deputy Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union; and Thomas Davin, Director of UNICEF’s Office of Innovation. Over the course of four days, the program included panel discussions and scientific workshops led by international experts and pioneers in education and AI. These sessions examined how AI is reshaping the future of learning, while showcasing innovative initiatives and practices that are setting global benchmarks in this domain. Participants emphasized the importance of approaching technological transformation responsibly, ensuring that it benefits learners, promotes equity, and sustains quality education, while also addressing the psychological, social, and ethical dimensions arising from these rapid changes. In his closing recommendations, Sobhi Al-Tawil, Director of the Future of Learning and Innovation Division at UNESCO, underlined that the integration of AI in education is radically transforming not only what students learn but also how they think, feel, and interact in technology-mediated environments. While AI offers revolutionary opportunities, it also places a profound social and ethical responsibility on education systems and policymakers to ensure that these transformations enhance equality and humanity, rather than diminish core learning values.
