Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdy, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and in the presence of Professor Dr. Muzaffar Al-Zuhairi, Scientific and Academic Supervisor at the University Presidency, the University's Continuing Education Center launched the first day of the specialized training program in "Occupational Health and Safety." The program, in cooperation with the Babylon Electricity Department, targets a select group of engineering and technical personnel within the department.
The event began with a speech by Professor Dr. Muzaffar Al-Zuhairi, in which he emphasized the importance of promoting a culture of safety and prevention in the workplace. He noted that specialized and qualitative training has become a fundamental pillar in reducing accident rates and improving performance and productivity, especially in vital sectors such as the electricity sector. Al-Zuhairi also emphasized the importance of integrating efforts between universities and state institutions, explaining that Al-Mustaqbal University places community service among its strategic priorities and that this course falls within the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
For her part, Dr. Reda Abdel-Ati El-Fishawy, Director of the Continuing Education Center, explained that the program aims to raise awareness of occupational health and safety concepts, empower participants to effectively manage risks, promote the proper use of personal protective equipment, and provide them with basic first aid and life support skills.
This training program comes as part of Future University's efforts to strengthen its community partnerships and consolidate its pioneering role in serving local development and developing the capabilities of workers in vital sectors.
