Under the patronage of the President of the University of Al-Mustaqbal, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, the Sustainable Development Division, in cooperation with the Center for Continuing Education, organized an online workshop entitled “International Day of Clean Air” on Sunday, September 7, 2025. The workshop featured distinguished experts and academics. Ms. Saadia Faleh Hassoun, Director of Together for the Protection of Human and Environment Association, delivered a lecture on the current state of air quality and its impact on human health and the environment. Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Hosni Ibrahim from Menoufia University – Arab Republic of Egypt, presented a scientific lecture addressing environmental challenges related to air pollution. From the University of Al-Mustaqbal, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ammar Abdul-Kadhim discussed the role of academic institutions in raising environmental awareness and developing strategies to combat pollution. Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Mostafa Ahmed Ragab from the Middle Technical University presented practical experiences and proposed solutions to improve air quality in Iraqi cities. At the conclusion of the workshop, participants emphasized the importance of cooperation between universities, research institutions, and civil society organizations to enhance environmental awareness and adopt initiatives that contribute to improving air quality and protecting public health.
