I am a Professor of Water and Environmental Engineering and currently serve as the Head of the Scientific Affairs Department at Al-Mustaqbal University, Babylon, Iraq. I have over 15 years of academic and professional experience in teaching, research, and managing environmental projects, particularly in water and wastewater treatment, air pollution, and climate change. My work is strongly aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation and SDG 13: Climate Action.

I have supervised several M.Sc. and Ph.D. theses in Iraq and Jordan, supporting postgraduate students in addressing contemporary environmental challenges.
Professional & National Contributions
Beyond academia, I have contributed to major national environmental projects. I led the Iraqi Marshlands Rehabilitation Project in collaboration with the Ministry of Water Resources for four years and participated in environmental status assessments with the Ministry of Environment.
I also managed the sewage network design project in Al-Diwaniyah and provided engineering consultancy services for various governmental bodies and private companies, including Ghalaowa Company, where I contributed to the design of sustainable water treatment systems.
Additionally, I have taken part in international workshops on climate change and co-developed strategic studies on the role of universities in addressing climate challenges. These reports are available through Al-Mustaqbal University’s Sustainability Portal.
Vision:
Through my academic and professional roles, I strive to advance environmental engineering education and research, strengthen international collaboration, and support global efforts to address climate and water challenges while promoting environmental sustainability.
