I
am an Iraqi physiologist and I am awarded a PhD in medical Physiology from Aberdeen University/UK 2014. I am subsequently a warded a post doctorate in Medical Physiology from the same University 2018. Given to my expertise and contribution in the field of energy metabolism and obesity, I am honorary selected to be a honorary Research Fellow at the University of Aberdeen/UK(2018-2021). I have more than 20 years’ experience working as a senior lecturer and assist professor at the Collège of Medicine/University of Kerbala (2004-2019) and at the college of Dentistry/University of Babylon. I am currently working as a Professor and Head of the department of Community Heath Techniques , College of Health and Medical Technologies)/Al-Mustaqbal University/ Iraq. My interest n whole energy balance - the factors that drive differences in animal’s food intake, metabolic rate, and total energy expenditure, and subsequent life-history patterns such as reproductive performance, oxidative stress, obesity, and aging. My study focuses on the captive small mammals. Throughout my PhD research, I have been interested in exploring the role of oxidative stress in mediating life histories. In this vein, I have studied the interaction between these traits from the cellular level to a systems biology perspective by looking at the linkage between Reproductive performance and oxidative stress at the physiological level as well as the whole metabolome. In a separate line of research, I also interested in an investigation the medical importance of oxidative stress in human health towards the mechanistic basis of aging by investigating the impact of lifelong reproduction on oxidative stress and subsequent aging.
